    Overall great experience, easy to order, no need for tech support yet. Cheap and better quality than vonage, Its been over a year still high quality Voip.

    3 years on and still great voip, with 3mb dsl echo has never been a problem

    I ordered VoiceWing for a 30day no-risk trial.
    Online ordering was long but easy to navigate and within days I received the kit. It included all necessary hardware to hook it up to the router (ActionTec, VZ 3/.768 DSL).
    It was working immediately, but I noticed that voice sounded way different than on landline phone.
    Lots of other people complained about echo and degraded voice quality.
    Another problem was obvious reliability. For unknown reason phone was disabled and had to be reactivated online.
    Feature wise, service was awesome, allowed me to do everything online, including placing calls and listening to voicemail.

    The actual hardware was Linksys PAP2 and VZ was "kind enough" to disable web configuration by creating their own password and I was forced to use voice based setup which was buggy to say the least. I wanted to set QoS in hopes of improving quality but tech support was clueless about VZ router.

    I had billing issues, when they forgot to cancel my service before 30 day mark and I was charged extra month and asked to pay cancellation fee. Manager was able to quickly resolve that.

    I have FIOS internet and was tired of paying high prices for POTS when everyone in family has cell phone as well. Was concerned about Voicewing's supposed inability to handle more than a single wired phone in the house but ordered it anyway. My network of five ATT 944 hand sets, plus two other single line phones works as it always has. Given the design of my system I had to switch a few wires around on the punch block to get everything working correctly, but it wasn't a big deal. I have yet to try my fax machine on VOIP. On installation I discovered that Verizon sold my new, temporary VOIP number to the telemarketers, but now that my old number is fully ported over to VOIP and the temporary number has been released, no more junk calls. After a couple weeks I could not be happier about saving approximately $25 per month versus similar POTS services. As everyone says, the website is slow, but hey, its a telephone service, not email. I'm not happy that my bills are now unbundled and will all go to my credit card, even when I get FIOS TV later this week, but it will add to my airline miles. Bottom line, it works if you have FIOS.

    First of all I do hate the website. its soooo slow. However, the service overall has been good since I called and complained about choppiness. They sent out a new configuration change and since things have been smooth. The main complaint I have other then the slow website is that I wish numbers programmed in your contacts would show up on the caller id with the actual name in the contact list rather then "cell phone" or something similar like SunRocket does.

    I've used VoiceWing for almost a year, and it is a great improvement over Vonage, but isn't perfect. When it works, it works very well. Call quality is excellent (15/2 FIOS). But then there are times when something goes haywire, either calls going direct to voice mail, or the simultaneous ring feature calls the follow-me number twice at the same time, the first of those calls rings, but the second of those calls gets picked up by that phone's voicemail because it is 'busy' (ringing), so I miss incoming calls. Their personal account manager website is horribly slow, and not always accurate. If they would fix the web site, fix the simultaneous ring problem, and attach voicemail recordings to email, they would be darn near perfect. Their technical support is excellent (unfortunately not 24/7)and when they say they will call you back, they actually do!

    I moved over from Vonage as I was having problem with Verizon FIOS router (actiontec) and the Vonage Cisco ATA.

    After install it did not work and I had to call Tech surport. They said they are having problem with the Verizon FIOS Actiontec router and voicewing.

    That is just very poor planning on the part of Voicewing and Verizon.

    They said I needed to put the Linksys PAP in the DMZ on the router. This was done and it still is not working that great at all.

    I'm still waiting on if they can port over my Vonage number.
    Most people say it can not be ported over but hey you never know.

    I will update as I know more and if they can fix the problem.

    When we moved into our new apartment, I found out that I couldn't transfer my Comcast phones over to the new location. Since SBC/ATT is the ILEC for the area, it was either them (with their stupid account manager that won't accept my username - firstnamelastname - because it contained the word "anal"), or make the move to VoIP. I have been apprehensive about using phones over my internet because 1) I'm set in my ways and don't like change, and 2) you never know when your internet is gonna die...especially if you need the phones at the same time with no access to cell phones or something along those lines (yes, I'm a worst-case-scenario kind of person)

    I had checked out a few providers' websites, read through all their respective faqs and support pages, and looked at other reviews online. Verizon wasn't as cheap as some of the other providers, but I do like their account manager (although, I could do without the flash).

    I wasn't too impressed with the tech support when I had called with questions *before* I ordered (i.e. dialup applications over the VoIP connection). But eventually, I got the answers I needed and signed up for their service online (waved installation fees).

    The Linksys adapter came via UPS in 2 days, and I was connected and making calls in 3 days. My mother (who will be moving here in August) currently lives in Hawaii, and I called both her home phone (Time Warner), and her cell phone (Verizon), and the sound/call quality isn't any different than using my cell phone to call. I haven't experienced any (30+ second) delays when connecting, the longest I've had to wait for a connecting call was about 5 seconds...which isn't bad at all.

    I'm not terribly bothered by the no-name caller id...actually, haven't noticed much because I check the logs online - the address book/name association works better than the one on my cell phone. I do like the fact that you can manage the call features online with a few clicks.

    I don't like the fact that the bill is auto-deducted from a credit card, and that's the only way you can bill. I usually pay all my bills online, but I do like being able to control *when* stuff gets paid.

    Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service so far *knock on wood*, but I still do miss my old POTS...but for the price difference (not to mention the fact that I'm still not on speaking terms with SBC/ATT), I couldn't pass it up.

    So far my experience with Voicewing has been good, time will tell if this changes. One thing that concerns me is that the service I chose ( Voicewing Unlimited) is really not unlimited, you are allowed 5000 minutes per month and will be charged if you go over this.

    To me unlimited is unlimited without stipulations, I would call this bait and switch.
    Was told by CSR that if I were to go over the 5000 min that they could work something out. Huh?

    Anyways since my initial signup the price is even lower now and hopefully Voicewing will catch on with Sunrocket and others that unlimited is unlimited.

    Nice that the FCC lets lame companies like sunrocket go belly up BEFORE I can get my number ported.

    Voicewing is pretty good but sucks badly on the following:

    Web site for managing voicewing account is SLOW. Get used to your browser saying WAITING for Voicewing.

    You can and will grow a BEARD if calling tech support/cust service. (even if female!)

    You must dial 10 digits EVEN for a local call.
    One would think that if verizon knows the area code your number is in that you wouldn't have to dial frickin 10 digits every time! This is from a real "phone company" WTF!? -- Suprised local people with plain 'ol analog copper lines (read traditional) don't have to dial 10 digits to reach you!

    Don't get Voicewing. Get someone else.

    I have two Voicewing accounts, 1 over my DSL connection and 1 over an OOL connection. It took about 3 days from the time I placed my order until the adapter arrived via UPS. Installation was a breeze. I can't notice any difference in call quality to my regular POTS service except for the service I use over OOL. My connection over my DSL has been better than my connection over OOL mainly due to connectivity issues that OOL refuses to fix. However, using my Voicewing over my DSL has had no problems whatsoever. Unfortunately, at the address where I have the OOL service, I have DirecTV for television but cannot get my DVR to connect over the Voicewing service. I don't know if its due to my lackluster OOL connection or just the regular issue that seems to affect a lot of VOIP users. One day I'll try it over my DSL connection to see if there's any difference. I know I could have gotten equivalent VOIP service from other providers but I decided to stick with Verizon because I rather give them the revenue to help speed up their FiOS deployment, afterall without the revenue, the service will never get widespread deployment. Overall I'm very happy with the service and highly recommend it.

    Ordered online and received kit within 3 days and service was up and running within 5 days. This was done between Christmas and New Years....not bad!

    Had trouble picking a phone exchange in the MD/DC area. The exchange I actually got was long distance for everyone around me. They need to show you the exchanges to pick based on your existing phone number and not just pick one out of a hat with no explanation. I was unable to find this info on their main page either. I wasn't too worried since I was porting my number anyway.

    Had problems when the number was ported. The landline was ported but it was not picked up by voice wing. I had to call and they were able to fix it. Then it was noticed that the outgoing caller ID still showed the original number and not the ported number. Called tech support (no waiting) and the tech was able to reprogram the phone adapter (walked me through it) and all is well. The tech even called back two days later to verify everything was working as expected.

    The clarity of each call is great...noticed no degredation while downloading and uploading.

    The Deluxe Caller-ID feature I was told will be coming soon. Right now it is just the phone number that comes through, both outgoing and incoming.

    The 911 service is a problem for all voip providers and as soon as an industry solution is made it will be better. I did add a pots line (just a dial tone) just for 911 capabilities.

    The only other thing I don't like is the need to have to use a 1 before all calls. Makes no difference since I don't pay for long distance on this plan...just have to get used to it like we had to get used to using the area code for all local and regional calls.

    The call mangement features are nice and have a good web interface layout.

    Overall I would reccomend Verizon's VoiceWing service to anyone. Reliability is great but depends on your ISP and thier reliability. (I have RCN Mach10 service).

    I was amazed that when I ordered the Voicewing service the Linsys converter came the very next day. It was very easy to install and I was up and running in about 15 minutes. My brother has Vonage in the Atlanta, GA area, and he warned me anout the voice latency in VOip; however, I have been amazed at how no one has been able to tell the difference. The wesite is a bit cumbersome and does lag a bit, but if you are a Verizon Encore customer, the you always go straight to the front of the technical service line.
