I looked into this (small) company because they let me bring my own modem, without locking me into a contract. I was considering getting Clear, because it is available in my area, but a landline seemed more reliable.

When I called the company to ask about billing and fix my installation questions, I noticed it seemed to be the same person doing billing, tech support--everything. He is extremely knowledgeable, but not condescending. Very professional and very helpful. 100% fantastic customer service.

I am paying $39 monthly for a 3Mbit "dry loop" connection (without phone service).

Installation took somewhat longer than I expected because Verizon didn't seem to do a proper installation the first time. LaunchNet sent out another Verizon tech and it was fixed.

Reliable Internet is very important to me, and LaunchNet looks like it will exceed my expectations.

As a Launchnet customer for 10 years, I have found their service to be exceptional.
Over the years as I have upgraded computers or added wireless routers Launchnet has been helpful in setting up my internet connections. As I mentioned in the bottom line, I have had 100% connectivity, so other than upgrading my equipment I have not needed support. Because of Launchnet's support I have recommended them to my parents and others who were computer literate in the 80's but now have trouble. They have all been grateful for the patient, friendly customer service / technical support!! And to me that is the most important issue when the price is right.

Speed: 3 mbps down / 512 kbps up
Modem: Zoom wireless
Convenient automatic billing
Quick and easy order and install process

Well, I've had the service with lanchnet for 15 months and I did not realized until few days ago that my contract ended. It was my fault that I didn't really care much of the billing becuase, they got the money from my credit card every month automatically. I guess most of us do the same.

Then, as I was scanning my credit card bill few days ago and realized that they took over $100 this month. I called and realized following things.
1. They haven't notified me when 1 year contract ended.
2. They haven't taken the money for 3 month from my account for some reason.
3. They took over $110 for the past 3 month service. My contract ended last Feb, so they charged regular fee for the past 3 month.
4. I called for reason not taking the money on Feb, but they won't answer.

I'm very unhappy with Launchnet and look for another provider.
If I knew, I would have called and signed up for another year or find some other provider. I didn't have to over pay for my 3 month service.

If I were you looking for new provider, I would look for some other provider.

The only reason I'm moving away from LaunchNet is that Verizon FiOS is available now in my area. I _love_ LaunchNet and highly recommend them. I had the ADSL2+ 15Mb/1Mb package, and had reliable/expected speeds.

I have a program that keeps track of any unplanned downtime.... here's the breakdown: ~880 days of monitoring, ~6.5 days of total downtime, the longest outage was for "1 day, 3 hours, 31 seconds on Sun Feb 10th, 2008". So, based on those statistics, you get 99.252% uptime, which isn't too bad for a residential service! Go LaunchNet!!!!

I did have some issues with getting the service initially installed, but it wasn't LaunchNet's issue, it was a "battle" between Covad and Verizon. So, I'm not counting that in this review. Your local carrier will determine your install experience (for the most part). The times where LaunchNet was involved were very smooth.

My dry-pair ADSL was cancelled by Covad following an argument with AT&T tech concerning distances. My location is just a bit over Covad's 17200ft maximum. AT&T insists that they can go up to 18000. This location has received various ADSL/SDSL before through Northpoint, SBC, and Speakeasy. Following the cancellation I made phone calls and sent emails to see whether another order could be placed. The person on the other end sound tired, said OK, but did nothing. Emails went unanswered. Looks like they only want the easy jobs. I'll take my business elsewhere then.

After being fed-up with paying an arm and a leg for dedicated connection, I found LaunchNet.com here on broadband reports. It's been a pleasure to deal with them.

I have Naked DSL with static IP addresses with them on 2 different office locations.

They got me connected with 5 static IP address (and a WiFi router) in mere 8 days. I was completely surprised by the amount of free tech support they offer to get you up-and-running. While other companies put you on hold for ages (and then their tech support guys are incompetent), LaunchNet.com folks (Garth rocks!) answer their phone personally (no machine!!! Thank God).

I got my connection up and running on the first office and I was so impressed by their level of service that we then asked them to connect my dad's office as well. We are a small tax and accounting firm and it been nice to talk to someone who helped us with computer/network glitches along the way.

YES THEY KNOW WHAT LINUX IS! (and their Netopia router works well).

I can't say enough good things about these guys. You can call me (Raj) personally to verify my good experience with Launchnet.COM (my office info at www.refundplan.com).

I wish their Netopia routper had "G" capability, but oh well.

These guys ROCK!

With my previous provider Comcast, we sometimes received very slow communications speeds. It was normally in the evenings when everybody else was trying to get connected. Since I switched to Launchnet, the connection has been very high speed and reliable. I'm Glad I converted to Launchnet.

Explained all the in's an out's of each type of service. My 6 meg line came with 1 static IP. Not aggressive to "sell me" and explained all that was going to occur for my set up which occurred within 7 days. I got in on a promo of FREE install with a Netopia wireless router.
