This company is likely the best DSL provider out there in Canada. They are small, and it shows in the information available on their website, and the lack of detailed billing and self-service information online. However, they will go to bat for you, and the real people available in support are the real deal. I recommend them.

I just got set up with Teksavvy's premium DSL service. Took 5 days from the time I ordered it to being available.
I am paying $29.95 for 5M/800k service with a 200gig cap. I am currently maxing out my bandwidth at 5M on downloads through the web and usenet. Bittorrent is capped at 30kB/s, but that is no fault of TekSavvy.
At first my modem was not connecting to the internet, but a quick call to tech support had me up and running in 5 minutes. There was a VCI setting in my 2wire gateway that needed to be changed.
Overall, I am quite happy with Tekavvy. They offer a fair price and a great service They remind me of the old ISPs I used to be used back in the mid 90's. Helpfull and friendly.
On a side note, my old ISPs charged me $29.95 a month for unlimited 14.4k dial up access and I had to pay Bell about $29.95 a month for a dedicated phone line to use the unlimited dialup. Imagine paying $60 a month for 14.4k.... those were the days..... then the 33.6k modem changed my world around
** Super Important - Make sure your lines are good!!!! **
My house is aprox. 40 years old and had no prior work done to it ever. I ended up rewiring the home with new CAT5 to ensure that the old wire would not cause any problems.
When my modem was first connected, the line stats were showing me that I was getting 3M/800k. I ended up doing something as simple as changing the RJ11 cord from the back of the modem to the wall jack and the speeds then jumped up to 5M/800k.
When in doubt, check your wiring first.

I used to have Bell but had monthly outages. Teksavvy is more reliable and have great teach support that's Canadian. They also have better routing than Bell too. I saved $50 a month from switching my internet and phone to teksavvy from bell. The only thing I wish was that Bell did not screw over with UBB and throttling and that Teksavvy could offer higher speed profiles.

October 2009: I am still impressed, I am more then happy with the Tek way of life. I managed to squeeze a perfect 7MB Profile out of Bell. I think in total I've had about 150 or so tickets submitted to bell, and eventually after much pushing I got what I wanted and more. I had considered Cogeco, and when I called I was called an idiot because I was asking if I could get a /29 from them... ya ok. anyway, Tek has my vote, the order process was painless and the modem has changed so many times by me to try and get the best out of my line. 2-wire is the best for marginal lines and SS5200 is the best for everything else. I am also rather interested that when i call, I'm like a demi-god of sorts cause the the joke is that when I'd call in my Ticket Queue would lock up the server. lmfao.
Bottom Line: Vote with your wallet, Choose Teksavvy!! ------------------------- April 2009: I am so impressed, if only BCE would stay away from my Lines It would be perfect. No it is perfect! A few hiccups, but to Tek's credit they got things resolved quickly. Way to Go! -------------------------- Sign-up 2008: I have never seen a corporation that is so consumer oriented. Where else can one find a truly bilingual staff, a Tech Support Team who is actually knowledgeable about what they put to market.
I have an unusual setup. I have 2 /29's instead of a larger block. If you think it's nuts, it's not there is method to my madness. I must comment Steve, Josh, Jason esp. for their constant help in configuring this setup. Which is 100% solid now, even tho I had to lose my nice 6meg Fast-path Profile:(.
All in all, I suggest any person who has had it with "the man" having their "hands in their pocket" to make the rather painless switch to Teksavvy.
Rocky and Marc, WAY TO GO! Keep up the good work!
Cheers!

I chose Teksavvy for my home phone and internet needs mainly because of the excellent rapport they have built here in the DSLR community.
Submitted my order over the phone, and it sure is nice to start your call by talking to a human being that cares, instead of a machine that wants to know what language of voice mail maze you would prefer. The support reps I've talked to are very knowledgable, and actually have a sense of humor!
August 8th 2009: Received my Teksavvy PPPoE login via email, and it works great. Still have a lot of hurdles to get over, mainly the question of whether I will have any interruption of internet or telephone service as my official switchover date of August 18th approaches.
August 16th 2009: It was only because my PPPoE login for Bell and Teksavvy stopped working that I called TekSavvy and found out two days before my activiation date that Bell rejected my order to transfer services to Teksavvy, for "no apparent reason." Rep restored my PPPoE login immediately. I'm somewhat disappointed I wasn't contacted by Teksavvy as soon as the order was rejected. But, to their credit, Teksavvy jumped on this right away to try and make things right - on a Sunday, no less!
August 26th 2009: There were also issues with switching long distance and local phone to Teksavvy which took a while to sort out what ended up being quite a mess, but it was worth it to be rid of two other overpriced services I had before. Long distance to Germany is 3 cents a minute now!
September 4, 2009. I received my first invoice and there was one small error. One call to Teksavvy, they cancelled the invoice and sent me a new one via email the next day! The "other guys" would have never have issued a corrected invoice, and insist on full payment of the erroneous bill, even if I threatened to cancel. Thanks for realizing the customer is always right!
October 24, 2009: Been with Teksavvy for two full months now, and the service has been rock solid. I'm totally satisfied and contract free!

Teksavvy is the greatest ISP I have ever used. I get perfect sync at 5Mbit/800Kbit. The unlimited package is extremely flexible (I use over 500GB/month). Tech support is fantastic and hold times are minimal and you are connected with friendly representatives who know what they are talking about.
Costs:

Been with TSi on a dry-dsl connection in two different locations in Toronto and they have always been as good as could be expected in a tough environment. Order was processed by Bell in the usual standard timeframe. Like the fact you can use your own hardware. Website kinda sucks, could be better (acct management?). Like the availability of addons such as static IPs, MLPP, etc.

I ordered my dry-DSL line at Teksavvy after I checked all the possibilities to get DSL or cable at my new place.
My main concern was the bandwidth allowed per line and the reviews customers made about their provider.
After looking around I chose Teksavvy because they allow you 200GB of bandwidth, have excellent reviews, can make you avoid Bell Trottling through MLPPP, and have good tech support through DSLreport.
I really appreciate that I can get my questions answered through the direct forum.
They first set me up at 3M, and after looking at my stats I asked for 5M on this forum, I've been upgraded fast and I got messages from them to tell me that the job was done. Now I can download at 540KB/s!
Since I got connected (1 week), the connection has been stable and fast.
I didn't order their modem nor router, I find them a little overpriced, I got the same devices (ST516, WRT54GL) from DirectCanada. The setup was easy for the modem, but you need a little knowledge to change the router firmware. However there is a lot of topics on the forum that will help you to get it configured.
