They offer a really good service. People on the phone seem nice and pleasant to talk to. I now have an mlppp setup with them at 2 x 6016/800 it cost me only 67$ taxe, second dry-loop and fix ip included. download give10mbps upload give 1400kbps (real speed)
The ordering process was great, really nice person on the phone.
Changing from 3000/800 to a faster line have been easy and fast. Activating mlppp connection was fast too.
The customer service is really great.
Speed is good and reliability is good. I sync at 6016 / 800 interleave on my line.
their French customer service had improved a lot since I'm with Teksavvy, that great.
Had problem with physical connection, bell take time to repair as they had problem finding the where it was located, but have receive good service if i take into acount the difficulties of the problem.

| "not fully bilingual" What do you mean? TekSavvy has a lot of people that are bilingual. Of course, not all of them, but quite a few.

That list only shows those who are bilingual and also post on these forums, I'm sure there are more when you call. -- Bell sucks. | |

I signed up for Internet service with TekSavvy near the end of August, with activation set for the beginning of September. There were no issues at all with my switch from OdyNet to TekSavvy, and communication has been great. I was already a home phone customer with TekSavvy, so I was already familiar with the friendly service.
I have had no connectivity issues, and my DSL profile was upgraded from 3 Mbps to 5 Mbps when I switched providers. In fact, there is nothing to really talk about other than reliable service at a great price.
The only issue I have had is with billing and accounting. This has been an ongoing issue with the company. It isn't anything major like overbilling, just small things like inconsistent billing dates (my first month charge was invoiced almost a month late), and lack of itemization of long distance charges (not strictly related to Internet, but TekSavvy in general). As of 2009, all my bills have since been consolidated, and long distance billing has now been itemized, so I'm happy to see this has come together in the last year.
I really wish that TekSavvy would have an online billing system which would allow me to access my bills over the Web rather than having them delivered by e-mail. Such a system would be more secure, and would give me a centralized location for my billing history.
All in all, TekSavvy is a great company and a great value. I hope that they can keep it up in the face of competition from companies like Bell.

Used these guys for 3 years, never had any issues. My only complaint is the 5Mbit speed and the throttling, though those are both Bell's fault.
Hopefully the CRTC will change that. If so, I'll come back immediately.

I just got my Internet set up today, it is a Dry Loop. It took awhile to get everything set up because of Bell -- I had activation date set for Sept 14th, but it was delayed until the 16th. Anyway, everything looks good now; the TekSavvy people were available 24/7, I even spoke to somebody near midnight on the 16th who put in a request for Bell Technical Solutions to come out and fix my line.
BTS came this morning at around 0900, he was a pretty nice guy, pulled the line to a demarc point, and tested it, informing me the sync rate I would obtain is 5mb/s.
The first bill was a bit much (came to about $150, but that's because I also purchased a SpeedTouch 516 modem), and I'm still not sure if they will offer to pro-rate their service price since I will probably be cancelling it in about 8 months (I'm a student and currently renting).
The modem seems a bit pricey given that other places sell the same one for $50, but I needed it quickly. TekSavvy also seemed like a nice company so I don't mind helping them remain profitable, since they are probably the most competitive player versus the ILECs.
I did a lot of research prior to getting the connection, and had briefly considered Acanac since it's cheaper, though I ended up going with TekSavvy since it was a reasonable price and I had amazing customer service (both via these forums and calling).
The above mentioned monthly cost contains everything it will cost to me over an 8 month projection, on the Premium plan ($29.95 base). I took the equipment cost of $75 amortized over 8 months: $9.38 as an "equipment cost"; my band is $9.10/mth for dry loop; plus the one-time costs: activation $19.99, shipping $10
I'm leaving out probably a bunch of details here, but I'm strapped for time, so I'll clarify later.
Thanks TekSavvy, you're awesome. I got lucky I guess with Bell's service people

I've had issues where Bell has horked something and in the end, TekSavvy fixes it. In six or so odd years, Bell has messed up my line two or three times. So it's a rare event but nonetheless, annoying.
btw, my costs may appear high but it's because I have moved all my services over to TSI: DSL with static IP, local and long distance phone, my first child and the pick of the next chicken litter.

I doubt I will change ISP unless I can't get DSL. I am very happy with this company. I never been satisfied with a company before. You can't go wrong with this company, they work hard to provide the best service possible.

I used to live in Trenton, Ontario. I had previous experience there with Bell high speed ultra in 2006, and Cogeco Pro high speed in 2008.
We moved to a new subdivision in Frankford, Ontario.
The speed of cable was great, however I did sometimes go over their 100 gig bandwidth cap. Cable internet is not available here (however digital cable TV is), so our only option was DSL.
Having had previous experience with Bell, their throttling and bandwidth caps, I went with Teksavvy based on the advice of the forums here. I now have a Teksavvy phone and internet service since Jan 2009.
I am pleased with their service, although I at first only got 1.5 megs DL and about 250 UL. I put up with it for months, thinking it is really just the area I live in. Youtube was a pain to use, really limiting my browsing experience.
After doing some line tests, and comparison with neighbors, I called Teksavvy, and their techs were great and very helpful. They helped out with a work order, and stated they can probably do better than what I have now.
After two work orders with Bell (the first one, my connection was worse), I got my speed up to 4.1 Megs DL and as of today 400 K UL. I am happy with that, however I still get a high latency of 150 ms. I am disappointed with that, however it doesn't have too big an effect on my current surfing.
During the work orders, Teksavvy called me and left messages to ask how things went. They were very helpful and proactive with the problem.
I have MLPP enabled now, with one connection. MLPP is great, however I wish there were gigabit routers with wireless N that could be flashed to this option cheaply.
There is supposed to be federal infrastructure money coming to the area for high speed internet, and hopefully the service can be upgraded in speed in my area. I could always use more speed, and my fiancee works online for her company from home.
I may go with another dry loop connection with MLPP, but I have been told that I will get the lowest of the two. It could be quite a pain to get a similar second dry loop line.
Overall, I would go with Teksavvy if DSL is the only option for you... it is a shame that Bell controls so much of their business however, and it really drags Teksavvy down.
If Cable internet comes to this area, it would be a toss up, and since I am using them for my cable TV now. As I stated before, only digital cable is available here. I probably wouldn't change back to cable unless the speed was really bumped up, and the bandwidth as well. The Cogeco Pro package costs almost as much as 2 MLPP lines, and you would still be stuck with their bandwidth caps, peaks and spikes in service.

I am certainly a minority in that I've been quite disappointed with the service offered by Teksavvy. I ordered dry loop DSL (not having a home phone) and had quite a bit of trouble getting it working. Tech support for the matter has been marginal at best.
It took a fair bit of hassle to actually get the internet working. At one point it was suggested that my modem was defective. In order to verify this and to be able to get a refund, apparently I was responsible for finding another modem (from a neighbor or friend) and trying it out. This is a horrible system, and a very poor example of standing behind what one sells (they did, after all, sell me the modem).
Anyhow, the service did eventually start working without my doing anything special. Might have been something Bell did. The whole procedure has been quite an enormous hassle, and I was particularly distressed by their attempt at a solution for my possibly defective modem. Were I doing it again, I would go for a different provider. That said, this service is good in principle, particularly for people who have a specific reason to avoid the bigger ISPs and don't mind a bit of hassle.
