I had an odd/tough problem, and MIKE in Tech Support got me up and running in minutes. I am very impressed with Atlanta Nexus, and with MIKE.

Dropped EarthStink for their horrid tech support, unreliable service and ever-reduced value for money.
Called on Wednesday, was up and running on Friday. Took me a month to get EL working due to their problems.
Since I did not need a modem, I opted for "no install" option. Emailed tech support and got replies within minutes. None of the "Prove to me you are not an idiot" stuff I had with EL and their canned responses. Just "here's what you asked for, any more questions just call me." And a phone #!.
Only problem was switchover was a day early. Actually took a few hours.
Update 6/21/2008:
Here 1.5/0.256 was all that was available. Atlnex and all other ISPs said I ws on an old fiber RT that does not support higher (also 9800'.) Lately, had all kinds of noise in the line. Called BS and they "fixed it". Checked the modem and it now said the S/N was good for 6mbit+. Emailed AtlNex about it. They checked and said, yep, the line has been upgraded. They switched me over to 3.5mbit in a day or so. Now I can finally watch streaming video.
A friend says my S/N stats look like I must be less than 3000'. Could be the patched me into the new box about 100' away. It has been there for 2 years and now they are finally switching over?
Update 2/22/2009:
Had a problem with the line. Solid sync, but near 100% packet loss. Emailed support and they called me in an hour. Was helpful, but on Sun night, could not handle Bellsouth Issues. Tech was honest and open about what she knew and could do. She gave me a temp dialup until it could be fixed in the morning (most likely a BellSouth/ATT issue).
First thing this morning (Monday), DSL started working fine. As always, great support that is local, knowledgeable and helpful.

I was a former Comcast subscriber always going down I decided to go shopping for internet service I found them though DSL reports. They are the best at what they do they always go above and beyond the call to fix any issues that might happen. I have never gone down since I have switch to them i suggest anyone have horrible service with their isp talk to these guys they will point you in the right way.

We had Comcast which had erratic service and everytime they had an upgrade we would intermittently lose service for days at a time.It was due to the cable coming into our home which our H.O.A would not agree to allowing us to replace.
So we heard about Atlantic nexus and decided to change as we had not had service for a week or so,the customer service we experienced was phenomenal, nt wait time and if we left a message a call was promptly returned. We installed it ourselves with good support to our wireless router and since then have been totally satisfied with our service.Reliable and fast.
The most important aspect to me is to have a good tech support crew who are knowledgable and easy to talk to , the need to be on hold for 30-45mins has been eliminated which is huge.
so thanks for the great service i'm really glad we made the change.

I have been with Atlantic Nexus for over 3 years. I just found out they now offered 6.0 download. I filled out the form around 8 pm and the next day by the time I got home it was upgraded. Man what service. I have only had like 2 outages over the 3 years and everytime it has happened it was a Bellsouth(AT&T) issue.

I love this company, their customer service reps and tech support, un-freakin believable. I have never had to call for a lack of connection, except when it was my computer. I purchesed a wireless router and the ROKU movie player. I just couldn't get them to work. I called ATNEX, and this guy stayed with me through the whole process to get everything working, and he didn't have to. They even use remote computing when I couldn't explain everything. Chris and T'C. are the best customer service technicians ever.
If anyone is like me and wants to get out of the waiting on the phone for ever just to talk to someone who really can't help you. Like I feel about AT&T and don't want to spend a fortune for service and internet.....I have only great respect for Atlantic Nexus and it's employees.
1.5 mbs, 36.00$/mo, Standard Modem, with super easy self install.

UPDATE January 2, 2009: Just want to bump this review - it's now been nine months and everything is still great.
UPDATE July 31, 2008: AtNex has saved my bacon with some more outstanding customer service. Through my own stupidity, I toasted my existing DSL modem, and could not find a plain replacement in the entire Atlanta area. AtNex to the rescue! I called them up, and reached a sales associate a few miles from where I live who was willing to let me pick up a new modem on a couple of hours notice AND give it to me for the cost of shipping, as I had not taken advantage of the free modem with new service offer when I first signed up. I challenge anyone with a corporate ISP to top that kind of service. It's been several months now and everything has been stellar - I could not be happier.
(Previously, in April 2008, after the first Speed Factory debacle, I wrote the following when I initially switched to AtNex:)
I admit, I've only been a customer for a few days, but AtNex has so far done a great job of removing any lingering doubts I had about jumping ship from SpeedFactory. I called their sales department at 2:00 AM on a Sunday morning on a whim, and lo and behold, a human being in this country answered the phone and took my order. Was up and running two and a half days earlier than the stated time (and perhaps more, if I had had time to verify). Static IP wasn't assigned correctly at first due to the flood of SF refugees, called up, and although they didn't call me back as they said they would (it was late at night, I imagine they have some policy about not returning calls past a certain hour), I was able to reach another very friendly tech when I called back. This tech fixed the problem with essentially the bare minimum of information from me, which tells me that these folks know their business, and furthermore was happy to take my request for DNS hosting rather than have me call back in the morning. (And I received a confirmation e-mail of the DNS setup within 10 minutes of calling, amazing!) All in all I am delighted to be here thus far and look forward to a great customer experience.
(Update - It did take me a bit of time to get tech support to understand what I wanted with DNS hosting, but at all times they were nice and friendly, and impressed me again by returning my tech support call at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. In the time it took to get everything set up to my liking (a few days), I have been unable to confirm that my Speedfactory account has been cancelled, so it has been an improvement in every way, and infinitely less frustrating than dealing with a droid in India reading a script when I call.)

| AtNex Saved the day(s) They rocked my face off. Live ATL ppl servicing my new account @12am. Way to go, guys...this is what I want and truly respect in an ISP that I once saw in SF. You guys rock, seriously. However, if you are about to be bought-out by some schmuck that won't pay the payroll and won't pay the upstream providers, please let me know, k? thxbai.
PS...You should really give those folks working from home and servicing calls in the middle of the night a BIG bonus...they are the ones that make me love you guys as a whole. Without them, I wouldn't have chosen AtNex as my next step from SF. | |

I had a real problem trying to self install a new wireless router. During the process I managed to screw-up my dsl modem such that I could no longer connect to my isp. I called Atlantic Nexus techinical support and talked to Tim Barton. In only 5 minutes, he had my modem problem fixed and I was back on-line. Not only that, but Tim graciously offered to help me wtih my wireless router installation. In another 15 minutes, my router was installed and my new laptop was connecting perfectly. Tim is a great asset to Atlantic Nexus and a perfect example of of what customer service is supposed to be. Thanks Tim!!!

Switched to Atnex last June after using my previous ISP for 10 years. Glad to have a local co. again. Thanks.
Update: Upgraded to 6 Mbps in late October. Great service during transition. Had a few problems with "dropped" connections but it seems to be related to my DI-604 router, not Atnex service. Thanks.

Switched to Atlantic Nexus from Speedfactory with 3Mb service and have had great service for almost three years. Just upgraded to 6Mb service on my two dsl lines and the upgrades were completed as communicated to me by both emails and phone calls. First line did have an issue that after a quick phone call to their tech support found out that AT&T had removed the provisioning from my phone line. Atlantic Nexus tech support followed up on the issue and communicated to me when it had been corrected. Fantastic service and follow-up by Atlantic Nexus tech support.
Wide open service without port blocking allows me to run web and mail services from my house and it is rock solid.
