I switch from att which had all kinds of speed issues and since I switch have never looked back. As of now i get a full 6.0mb before I was only getting 4 Atlantic Nexus was able to figureout a wiring issue and fix the problem. Thanks Atnex team for such great service.

I have been with Atlantic Nexus since Speedfactory left us disconnected without notice - so it's been over a year. I have read a lot of reviews about their outstanding tech support so I felt the need to post my story, which is different.
Since I have had them, I have had 3 outages for more than a day that I had to call tech support for. All 3 were blamed on AT&T/Bellsouth. The best being down for about a day, the worst for 4 days (there have also been numerious sporatic short outages). My experience with their tech support is you call them, nobody answers so you must leave a message. It then takes hours for them to return the call. My last 4 day outage, they would get a repair time from AT&T when the problem would be resolved - they would not even talk to me until that time came and went, they would not check on a status - nothing. For the last outage, the repair time came and went 5 times - it was constantly pushed back. Yes, this was probably an AT&T problem but they would never check on the status and let me know, I would always have to call them. After 4 days, their tech support was still asking me "have your powered down your router?". Long outages like these in this day and age is unexcusable - it is poor planning, poor support and poor customer service. Then to add insult to injury, they credited my account six measly dollars to make up for my 4 days of lost revenue. The resolution, after 4 days of downtime, ended with AT&T doing a simple port reset.
It is somewhat painful to change ISP's but I would recommend a good look elsewhere to see if there is someone with better tech support.

1 edit | Tech Support At Atlantic Nexus, we pride ourselves on our high quality tech support. We must admit that there are times when circumstances are beyond our control such as when there is a local hardware failure on the telco equipment close to the end-user (cable cut, ONU failure, etc). We make our best effort to maintain open communication and report information from the phone company as it is made available to us. Our standard procedure is to report the estimated time of service restoral. If service is not restored at that time, we do recommend power cycling your modem and router as this will often resync the modem and allow the customer to log back into the service. If this does not resolve the issue at the estimated time of service restoral, we recommend customers call us back to notify us of the ongoing issue so we can get an updated status on the issue from the telco.
Our customer support is among the best in the industry. We often spend extended periods of time on individual customer issues in an attempt to resolve every issue. Our techs are rated on the number of issues they resolve, not the number of tickets they close. Based on this approach, if all technicians are assisting other customers, callers have the option of leaving a message rather than waiting on hold. We call every customer back in the order their message is received. Optionally, customers may contact us on our website or via email if their internet service is active.
We are happy to provide service credits for down time on a prorated basis. If the service charges are $30/month, the credit would come out to around $1.00 per day. We believe this to be a fair business practice that many other service providers do not honor.

| Not really fair to blame them for BellSouth's failings Yes, I have also had some outages that were eventually due to the suck of BellSouth, but you should place the blame for those appropriately. The callback feature of tech support actually beats the living daylights out of sitting on hold for 30 minutes during peak times - I'm sure you could get a prompt response if they outsourced to a call center in India, but really, would you WANT that? I'm just not sure you're going to improve your situation by switching to someone else. | |

I switched to Atlantic Nexus because of the great reviews, and they are well earned. My modem died, and TC patiently listened to me bitch, then he sent a replacement modem already configured overnight . All I had to do was plug it in.
They have the best support of any ISP I have ever dealt with. TC is the best, Chris is good too.
Now with my luck, after finding a great ISP, they'll probably be bought out by some big crappy company like ATT.
TC if you read this, YOU ROCK DUDE!!!!!

Dropped EarthStink for their horrid tech support, unreliable service and ever-reduced value for money.
Called on Wednesday, was up and running on Friday. Took me a month to get EL working due to their problems.
Since I did not need a modem, I opted for "no install" option. Emailed tech support and got replies within minutes. None of the "Prove to me you are not an idiot" stuff I had with EL and their canned responses. Just "here's what you asked for, any more questions just call me." And a phone #!.
Only problem was switchover was a day early. Actually took a few hours.
Update 6/21/2008:
Here 1.5/0.256 was all that was available. Atlnex and all other ISPs said I ws on an old fiber RT that does not support higher (also 9800'.) Lately, had all kinds of noise in the line. Called BS and they "fixed it". Checked the modem and it now said the S/N was good for 6mbit+. Emailed AtlNex about it. They checked and said, yep, the line has been upgraded. They switched me over to 3.5mbit in a day or so. Now I can finally watch streaming video.
A friend says my S/N stats look like I must be less than 3000'. Could be the patched me into the new box about 100' away. It has been there for 2 years and now they are finally switching over?
Update 2/22/2009:
Had a problem with the line. Solid sync, but near 100% packet loss. Emailed support and they called me in an hour. Was helpful, but on Sun night, could not handle Bellsouth Issues. Tech was honest and open about what she knew and could do. She gave me a temp dialup until it could be fixed in the morning (most likely a BellSouth/ATT issue).
First thing this morning (Monday), DSL started working fine. As always, great support that is local, knowledgeable and helpful.

I was a former Comcast subscriber always going down I decided to go shopping for internet service I found them though DSL reports. They are the best at what they do they always go above and beyond the call to fix any issues that might happen. I have never gone down since I have switch to them i suggest anyone have horrible service with their isp talk to these guys they will point you in the right way.

We had Comcast which had erratic service and everytime they had an upgrade we would intermittently lose service for days at a time.It was due to the cable coming into our home which our H.O.A would not agree to allowing us to replace.
So we heard about Atlantic nexus and decided to change as we had not had service for a week or so,the customer service we experienced was phenomenal, nt wait time and if we left a message a call was promptly returned. We installed it ourselves with good support to our wireless router and since then have been totally satisfied with our service.Reliable and fast.
The most important aspect to me is to have a good tech support crew who are knowledgable and easy to talk to , the need to be on hold for 30-45mins has been eliminated which is huge.
so thanks for the great service i'm really glad we made the change.

I have been with Atlantic Nexus for over 3 years. I just found out they now offered 6.0 download. I filled out the form around 8 pm and the next day by the time I got home it was upgraded. Man what service. I have only had like 2 outages over the 3 years and everytime it has happened it was a Bellsouth(AT&T) issue.

I love this company, their customer service reps and tech support, un-freakin believable. I have never had to call for a lack of connection, except when it was my computer. I purchesed a wireless router and the ROKU movie player. I just couldn't get them to work. I called ATNEX, and this guy stayed with me through the whole process to get everything working, and he didn't have to. They even use remote computing when I couldn't explain everything. Chris and T'C. are the best customer service technicians ever.
If anyone is like me and wants to get out of the waiting on the phone for ever just to talk to someone who really can't help you. Like I feel about AT&T and don't want to spend a fortune for service and internet.....I have only great respect for Atlantic Nexus and it's employees.
1.5 mbs, 36.00$/mo, Standard Modem, with super easy self install.
