I have been with Atlantic Nexus for over 3 years. I just found out they now offered 6.0 download. I filled out the form around 8 pm and the next day by the time I got home it was upgraded. Man what service. I have only had like 2 outages over the 3 years and everytime it has happened it was a Bellsouth(AT&T) issue.

I love this company, their customer service reps and tech support, un-freakin believable. I have never had to call for a lack of connection, except when it was my computer. I purchesed a wireless router and the ROKU movie player. I just couldn't get them to work. I called ATNEX, and this guy stayed with me through the whole process to get everything working, and he didn't have to. They even use remote computing when I couldn't explain everything. Chris and T'C. are the best customer service technicians ever.

If anyone is like me and wants to get out of the waiting on the phone for ever just to talk to someone who really can't help you. Like I feel about AT&T and don't want to spend a fortune for service and internet.....I have only great respect for Atlantic Nexus and it's employees.

1.5 mbs, 36.00$/mo, Standard Modem, with super easy self install.

UPDATE January 2, 2009: Just want to bump this review - it's now been nine months and everything is still great.

UPDATE July 31, 2008: AtNex has saved my bacon with some more outstanding customer service. Through my own stupidity, I toasted my existing DSL modem, and could not find a plain replacement in the entire Atlanta area. AtNex to the rescue! I called them up, and reached a sales associate a few miles from where I live who was willing to let me pick up a new modem on a couple of hours notice AND give it to me for the cost of shipping, as I had not taken advantage of the free modem with new service offer when I first signed up. I challenge anyone with a corporate ISP to top that kind of service. It's been several months now and everything has been stellar - I could not be happier.

(Previously, in April 2008, after the first Speed Factory debacle, I wrote the following when I initially switched to AtNex:)

I admit, I've only been a customer for a few days, but AtNex has so far done a great job of removing any lingering doubts I had about jumping ship from SpeedFactory. I called their sales department at 2:00 AM on a Sunday morning on a whim, and lo and behold, a human being in this country answered the phone and took my order. Was up and running two and a half days earlier than the stated time (and perhaps more, if I had had time to verify). Static IP wasn't assigned correctly at first due to the flood of SF refugees, called up, and although they didn't call me back as they said they would (it was late at night, I imagine they have some policy about not returning calls past a certain hour), I was able to reach another very friendly tech when I called back. This tech fixed the problem with essentially the bare minimum of information from me, which tells me that these folks know their business, and furthermore was happy to take my request for DNS hosting rather than have me call back in the morning. (And I received a confirmation e-mail of the DNS setup within 10 minutes of calling, amazing!) All in all I am delighted to be here thus far and look forward to a great customer experience.

(Update - It did take me a bit of time to get tech support to understand what I wanted with DNS hosting, but at all times they were nice and friendly, and impressed me again by returning my tech support call at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. In the time it took to get everything set up to my liking (a few days), I have been unable to confirm that my Speedfactory account has been cancelled, so it has been an improvement in every way, and infinitely less frustrating than dealing with a droid in India reading a script when I call.)

    AtNex Saved the day(s)

They rocked my face off. Live ATL ppl servicing my new account @12am. Way to go, guys...this is what I want and truly respect in an ISP that I once saw in SF. You guys rock, seriously. However, if you are about to be bought-out by some schmuck that won't pay the payroll and won't pay the upstream providers, please let me know, k? thxbai.

PS...You should really give those folks working from home and servicing calls in the middle of the night a BIG bonus...they are the ones that make me love you guys as a whole. Without them, I wouldn't have chosen AtNex as my next step from SF.

I had a real problem trying to self install a new wireless router. During the process I managed to screw-up my dsl modem such that I could no longer connect to my isp. I called Atlantic Nexus techinical support and talked to Tim Barton. In only 5 minutes, he had my modem problem fixed and I was back on-line. Not only that, but Tim graciously offered to help me wtih my wireless router installation. In another 15 minutes, my router was installed and my new laptop was connecting perfectly. Tim is a great asset to Atlantic Nexus and a perfect example of of what customer service is supposed to be. Thanks Tim!!!

Switched to Atnex last June after using my previous ISP for 10 years. Glad to have a local co. again. Thanks.

    Update:
Upgraded to 6 Mbps in late October. Great service during transition. Had a few problems with "dropped" connections but it seems to be related to my DI-604 router, not Atnex service. Thanks.

Switched to Atlantic Nexus from Speedfactory with 3Mb service and have had great service for almost three years. Just upgraded to 6Mb service on my two dsl lines and the upgrades were completed as communicated to me by both emails and phone calls. First line did have an issue that after a quick phone call to their tech support found out that AT&T had removed the provisioning from my phone line. Atlantic Nexus tech support followed up on the issue and communicated to me when it had been corrected. Fantastic service and follow-up by Atlantic Nexus tech support.

Wide open service without port blocking allows me to run web and mail services from my house and it is rock solid.

    My Other Reviews·Speed Factory
I was one of the people that got screwed by Speedfactory-29 July 2008. I called ATNEX after a recommendation. It was a great tip. They had heard quite a bit about SF dumping their DSL customers and were more than helpful in providing me DSL service ASAP.The quickest response I have seen-signed up on 29 July 2008/1630 and had an active line 30 July 2008/0915. Can't complain with that!!! So far, so good! I got the 3Mb DSL service with a static IP address.

1 Nov 2008-I just got the new 6MB DSL service switched on. WOW! Getting 6.29MB at my PC. Cost $10 per month more to upgrade from 3MB service to 6MB service. (Now paying $59 total-this is for static IP and 6MB DSL) Well worth it.

    Way to go ATNEX!!!

"This best ISP I have ever had"

I did have Bellsouth (ATT) dsl, and I was always having dns trouble,e-mail trouble.
So I called up Atlantic Nexus and they had me move in about 2 hours. Now I have no more dns and e-mail trouble. I'm very happy that I have made this move to Atlantic Nexus

I was very impressed with the way Atlantic Nexus was able to help me in transitioning from being an nine-year veteran of Speedfactory. Additionally, they were very instrumental in resolving an issue where BellSouth reclassified my line to 1.5Mb from the 3Mb line I had with SF. They even spent the time fine tuning my DSL signal, which resulted in almost another 15% throughput on my line.
