Bell Canada Good "Eric and Andre in Tech ROCK. Have bent over BACKWARDS to help me work out the Bell Canada issues." Bad "Nothing in their control, but I still don't have service. Bell Canada's Helpdesk personnel are poorly trained, or high." Overall "Can't wait to see if the service matches their support so far. Hope to never have to deal with Bell again."

UPDATE: Now working. Finally. Thanks again to the guys at Ebox for their insanely good support. For some reason was provisioned at 3mb... Took a 5 minute call to get 15... Downloads pretty stable at 14mb/s and uploads nearing a full meg. Not bad guys. Not bad.
So, order process was smooth. Submitted the order online, called the next day, paid via bank account... As soon as it was verified, received a call from the folks at EBox, and they booked my install.
Friday, install booked for Tuesday... Okay. Not bad.
Bell Tech arrives, installs a jack in my apartment and runs the wire to the demarc. Managed to screw this up... Open line.
Telecon (3rd party) comes for second part - fixes the mistake of the Bell tech and tells me there's an issue from demarc to CO... He'll file the ticket.
Bell closes the ticket, shortly after saying all is normal.
Call Ebox, and Eric (who rocks, give this guy a raise) helps me through booking another ticket... Going to have to wait till tomorrow for dispatch. (Okay, fine)
Get a call at 8:45. Bell Helpdesk to book ticket... 8:45... that's kinda late, but book the ticket anyway.
Tech shows up... Great guy by the way, verifies that there is nothing wrong with the BRAND NEW WIRING the previous Bell Tech puts in. Suspects that the cable guys didn't install all of the lines to my building, only the active one.
Sends a new ticket, for cable to take care of it.
Receive a call 10:45 last night. 10:45. Helpdesk again. Oh noes, we must verify your wiring again... I hold my temper, at this obviously inept individual... Call Ebox today, Eric calls and verifies that the cable guy is out on dispatch and is working on my issue.
So Eric... Thank you. You've been super helpful. Andre, and all the other folks -- you guys all rock so far. Any issue I've had, they've bent over backwards to help satisfy within their power.
Will update this review with service stats once it's running.
To Bell? I hate you.

I ordered Electronicbox on Labor Day. I called customer service and ordered extreme 20 package which is 20 download 10 upload and 150 gb for $39.95. They told me a would receive a call to set up an installation date in 5 business days. By the 5th business day no call yet, so I called in, customer service tells me I should receive a call any day now. On the 9th business day still no call. I called in to see what was the delay. Customer service told me they were just about to call me. I scheduled an installation date for September 21st.
Installation cost $50 and modem was $100.i never received an email confirmation of my order. I picked up the modem last Thursday to save $15 shipping. The bill was in the box, I noticed on the bill that they made an error on the package I ordered, the charge was $31.95 which was for the 10 download package, I ordered the 20 mbps package. I called back to advice them of the mistake and the customer service said if they would do the change now, they would need to cancel my installation date and reschedule at a later date. I would basically fall at the bottom of the wait again, this made no sense to me. They told me to wait until the installation was done and than to call back to change my package so I wouldn't lose my installation date.
Videotron came to install the internet today. All went well. I called Electronicbox to switch the package to the one I ordered. They told me that the switch would only be done on November 1st. That's in over 5 weeks! I told them that I wanted the package that I ordered and didn't want to wait that long for their mistake.
Customer service had a rude attitude!i called multiple times prior to installation which they didn't have logged in their system.I'm upset that they could not provide me with the package I ordered and it is ridiculous that I have to wait another 5 weeks to receive what I ordered.
The supervisor is suppose to call me back today or tomorrow when they have time. I will wait to see what they have to say.

| Blame the right company Sorry to hear that you had to wait so long for VL to come to your place and make the install but there is one thing you should know: That part, the installation, is NOT in the control of Ebox. The only thing they can do is transmit to VL the order. Then VL takes it from there. So if the delay was long, blame VL, not Ebox.
As for getting the wrong package, I will let Ebox comment/deal with this part. But knowing the kind of high quality customer service they have, I'm sure you'll be satisfied.
Welcome to Ebox!

| | | PM me Hello I work for Electronic Box and would like to review the situation. Could you please send me either your name and postal code or client number with us via PM please. I will look into this for you and bring any corrections needed. | |
| | | September bad time to sign up I had a similar experience with Electronicbox, they said it would take 10 days max due to high volume of subscriptions in the beginning of academic year, and it actually took 2 full weeks. I was going nuts not having a connection. They should be more up front with new customers, I think. | |

Bonjour,

Well I think a year with them has been a good trial for Electronic Box , I have never had any issues with them as for speed always great speed. I have the 20mbps package at 500 gigs . Customer service have always been pleasant and never a hard time.
I recently moved and I think this was a smoother transition then my first hook up called little over week befor my move, got told it would take about 2-3 weeks depending on Videotron to my suprised they had it done the next morning after I moved. It went seemless. Only thing was the moving fee, should be lowered if they the customer is staying with you.
I have recommended them to everyone that looking for a new provider.

Bought a new house in fall 2012; wanted totally out of Bell, as I was being raped with a $57 a month third world DSL 5Mbps internet & modem rental, and a $64 land line with long distance plan. $129 a month with taxes added. My girlfriend was not too keen on losing our phone #, even though I tried to explain numbers could be transferred to other providers, so I convinced her to let me start with internet, and wait a bit for the phone.
A month in advance, I ordered Speedcable Extreme 30/10 250GB at $49.95+tx for installation during the week after moving day. Also bought DCM475 modem, which arrived within a few days. Tech was on time, very courteous, and professional.
So far this has been a perfect experience and the speed has been constant since day one.
Next is VOIP...

I moved from Teksavyy to Electronic Box in July 2013 (its end of August 2013 at the time of writing). I have been an happy VDSL 25/10 consumer for almost 2 months now.
Although Electronic Box does not offer unlimited packages, which is a shame, they do offer a longer unlimited time period (from 2am to 2pm, as opposed to 2am to 8 am for Teksavvy) and have a pretty solid pricing with their VDSL packages. Waving off the dryloop fees combined with the fact the 500GB package was cheaper than Teksavvy's unlimited packages (and sufficient for my needs) was a sell for me. I was moving in July and was faced with the choice of either paying the moving fees to stay with Teksavvy or the installation fees to move to another provider (Electronic Box in this instance). It was a no brainer, as I was saving a bit of money.
Being French, having an actual French consumer/support service was a breath of fresh air and would actually allow me to recommend the service to non-English speaking persons.
The only issue that comes to mind is the fact that I was not provided my username and password prior and during the installation. The physical installation went really well, the guys cabled everything like I instructed them to, but I had to call to get my credentials and complete the installation. It's nothing huge, but I could see this as an annoyance for non-technical users that expect a seamless experience.
All in all, I am pretty happy, everything is rock solid and the consumer/technical service is really good. I would definitely recommend to anyone not requiring an unlimited package.

Called a couple weeks ago to order service+modem. Went without a hitch, received modem promptly by Purolator. Now waiting until my service activation date to rate the service itself.
Will keep this post updated accordingly.
UPDATE: Well, I completely forgot to update, lol, so here goes!
Been with them since July 2012. We're now in August 2013. Not one single outage, except for that one time Videotron's cables were vandalized. Service was promptly brought back to working condition. I'm on the 30dl/10ul/500GB plan. Speed is always 30~31 mbps at any time of the day, and upload is sometimes around 12mbps, so speed both ways is always a bit more than advertised.
I use VoIP.ms on my connection with an ObiHai adapter. Stutter-free use and awesome ping times.
I really can't fault the service they sell me. Will stay with ElectronicBox as long as they'll maintain that level of service!

So I signed up for the 15Megabit DSL service FTTN with free installation, in theory sounded like a pretty good deal. Well I waited a week and the installer from Bell came and hooked everything up for me. He told me if I had any issues with it, it was because of the inside wiring. So anyways I hooked the service up through a working phone jack and did a few speed test with different servers. First thing I noticed about the speed tests is each server I did the test with came up with a completely different speed ranging from half a megabit to 13 megabits. I suspected maybe it was the wireless on the DSL modem causing the issue, So I connected known good working router to the modem and it did help a bit, but still it did not work very well. I thought maybe it was a problem caused by the inside wiring so I hooked the modem DIRECTLY to the network interface device on the outside of the house through the test jack, and hooked the modem directly to the computer. It may have helped a tiny bit but it was still VERY erratic. Some servers I tested ran 0.5Megabits per second consistently while others (very few) ran at up to 13 megabits per second consistently. The fact that there was some (although very very few) servers that downloaded at 13 megabits per second consistently showed that my line (on bells end anyways) was capable of supporting up to 13 megabits per second.
I still had my cable internet from start communications hooked up at the time and tried all the same servers that were slow on Electronic Box were working just fine (downloaded at up to 20 megabits per second) on start communications servers. I did a traceroute with google.com and it showed that the ping time was extremely high between my modem and electronic box servers (140ms) but after the electronic box servers the pings were around 30ms. My theory (may or may not be correct) is that the electronic box servers were not connecting at very high speeds to certain locations. I even tested the connection with another dsl modem... same thing, so it definitely wasn't on my end. Also, if it was on my end (the line from pole to house) ALL servers would be running at around the same speed (slow).
Also another thing that I noticed when calling this place, all of there contact numbers were out of service except for the Montreal number. The 1-877 number didn't even work. Then when I got on the phone with them I had to wait 40 mins to talk to someone then I got transferred to tech support even though there was absolutely nothing they could do for me.
I am happy that they are sending me a refund for the month of service, that was good customer service. If the service worked ok I would be ok with recommending them but as of now I can't recommend there DSL service.

I recently switched from Videotron to Eletronic Box, both with a 20 mbps cable connection.
Setting up and account and scheduling the switch from videotron to electronic box was a breeze. The customer service was very nice and informative.
If you are an existing customer with Videotron they will even do the arrangements with Videotron for you and you can benefit from their free activation. The only bad thing I would have to say is that I received no communications between the time I opened my account with them to the time my service was transferred. All in all it took about 3 weeks for the switch to happen and even though I got called on the day that my service was switched I would've liked a bit more information on the status of my transfer before it actually happened. In reality it's a no biggie since everything went very smoothly.
The service is excellent. My speed is the same as with Videotron and so is my ping. I have not experienced any problems since I have been with them.
Another side note I would like to add is that a few weeks after opening my account with them I decided to switch to their 30 mbps service. The answer I got is that the switch could only happen for the month of October. I notified them in early August, pretty long delay for a simple bump up in speed.
All in all I am a very satisfied customer and would repeat the experience any time. I would also like to add that their French service is great which is not true for all companies.
