I switched from videotron regular high speed to the intermediate cable at 5 MB/s with eBox. Did not see any difference. At 26.95$ it a deal! Installation went as planned without any bugs. Great service so far! GC73

I switched from 6mb/800k (4m/800k real) classic dsl from teksavvy (43.68$/month, 300 gig cap) to EBox adsl2+ fttn 10mb/1mb (9mb/800k real) for 37.80$/month with 100 gig cap. Twice as fast, and 6$ less. The monthly cap is compensated with the bigger unlimited window for EBox, teksavvy is 2am to 8am, EBox is 2am to 2 pm.

On the installation day, all hell broke loose, since bell tech installed a toasted DSL module in the Node instead of a working one. I was without internet for a week because of this. Ebox were quite helpful to fix this and made sure I wouldn't be charged a 90$ fee from bell if they were to blame my in-house wiring.

After the connection was finally working, I had quite some problem with connection reliability, because of upload SNR. Bell was supposed to change the twisted pair, but they didn't because the other pair was already broken. EBox also helped, tried with me different profile and even explained that adsl2+ was maxing my phone line in upload because bell didn't program enough profile for the 10m/1m connection in their system. I finally managed to make it work by cleaning up the wires into the wall wired to main telephone socket and upgraded my modem firmware. The SNR for upload is still 7db (pretty bad), but connection have been up for 34 days now, with no disconnection.

Been pretty happy so far, especially with the unlimited window and the cheaper price!

Everything was alright, except maybe the fact that the modem was supplied without the password, so i had to reset it to do a custom configuration.

Would recommend starting a different type of internet packages: develop a 100 Mbps metropolitan area network, and then connect it to the outside world through fiber optics. This proved to be a huge success in Europe. Speeds will be high, and prices will drop. Plus you move away from Bell's shitty network.

Infrastructure will be a huge investment though

I find Electronicbox by chance, surfing the internet and when I was looking for the internet package and prices, this intrigued me. Presently I have the limited 100 GB by month with a 10 Mb Download and 1.5 Mb Upload and I’m ok whit that. I always check the internet speed and all the time the same: 10Mb down and 1.5 Up that is important for me because I pay for this speed and I have this speed of internet. I left my last internet provider with many problems from their side, but the teams from electronicbox was doing the internet connection in very fast time and very professionally, appreciate that. I bought the Thomson Modem DCM475, paying 99$ for them. When I was calling the technical support or the customer support, all the time I was answered very quickly, waiting time has never exceeded 8-10 minutes, what I can’t say for my last ISP, where the waiting time was at least 2 hours. Electronicbox team is doing that fast and response professionally at all the questions.

Extremely fast download and upload speed. Low monthly charges. Great service.
High first-time charges. Few self-serve options.
Great alternative to Bell and Videotron if you intend to stay with them for more than a year.

Package: Cable Extreme 20

Includes: 20 Mbps download speed, 15 Mbps upload speed, 150 GB cap, 39.95$/month

Supplied Equipment: RCA high-speed modem (not included in monthly price)

First-time charges: You have to buy the modem, so add a 100$ + 15$ of handling if you don't already have a cable modem that can handle the fast speed. They also charge 50$ for modem installation, which is somewhat understandable. Because of these fees, on the first full year, you don't save any money and it comes down paying the same price as with other ISPs. It starts to pay off the subsequent years.

Self-serve: You can't manage your account online as with other ISPs. You can only get a very basic view of your monthly usage. They don't send you alerts when near or reaching your usage limit as with other ISPs. But these are just some minor annoyances that will surely get fixed in a near future.

Bandwidth: Pricing of Cable Extreme package definitely the best value on the market. I sometimes experience issues with the download bandwidth going down abruptly, but rare. Otherwise it's great.

Bottom line: I chose Electronic Box because Bell has awful service, Vidéotron is expensive and blocks port 80 inbound, Cogeco has awful upload speeds. Electronic Box has great speed, great service, and it gets very cheap if you stay with them for more than a year. I do not regret my choice and would not go back to any other ISPs.

Electronicbox offers a very good service at a reasonable price. The customer service is very good and the internet service too. Since I subscribed, I have not had any problems. Everything works perfectly. I am very satisfied.
