They cut my phone line and internet 1 week before the guy was suposed to come for the installation. So i decide to stay whit my old company because they did not have a good customer service and did not respect the contract for the date of the line move. I'm now unable to get my phone number back because it is not registered at my name but the company name. I bought a modem, that it never been activated and installed and they dont want to give my money back. By their error i lost my phone and internet during 1 week. Rembourse the modem should be a compensation for all the trouble.

first of all... electronicbox does not disconnect your from other company (that is your company having disconnect you so dont blame ebox)

if your number is no longer available its maybe because you are too prime on the button and you try to get back your number when is transfer is not yet completed

so relax take a breath and do things as they supposed to be done

for now people that will read your review will laugh a lot when reading.

if you dont know how thing works try to learn why before to come here and say ...stupiditys about what you dont know

Bonne stabilité du ping et de la vitesse dans l'heure de pointe.
Bonne présence sur le forum et en français.

Seulement leur grand point faible est leur prix. Trop chère en adsl versus cable et versus ses concurrents (compétiteurs adsl)

L'installation se fait par les sous traitant de Bhell dont un service adéquat.

Electronic box is a company that has no integrity. We asked if they could cancel the penalty that was given to us because of a misinformation, and they happily obliged. I thought that they really extended out a helping hand. They retracted the penalty and promised me that everything is well taken care of. Then i received an email from them regarding making a review to get a chance to win a raffle and i took time to spread the news that these guys are good. Apparently,I was wrong. After making the review, One of the supervisors called me saying that the cancellation of penalty was something that shouldn't have done and that one of their representatives made a mistake so they are retracting it and have asked me to pay my bill outright or else my account will be suspended.They said that they will review my case but in the end,all they said was that it won't be happening again.If they just said it outright at the beginning that they cannot do anything with it then i would've understood. But the point here is that they gave me their word that everything is ok and that they should keep it. If a company will argue about $50 with a potential lifelong customer,it just only shows how bad a company they are.

Me and me roomates decided to go for electronic box because of their good reputation and low prices. We decided to try the DSL line instead of the cable cause our previous isp was also on DSL and we had no problems at all, electronic box was just cheaper.

5 Mbit/s, 250GB download limit

As soon as we switched, we started experiencing disconnection problems depending on the days of the week. During the weekend, we could not stay connected more than 5 minutes without losing connection for 20 to 30 seconds, which makes it impossible to do a skype call or play a game online.

We called electronic box support and they reassure us saying that our upload profile was too high because of our proximity to the central and that they would send a ticket to Bell asking them to lower our upload profile.

That being done, that solved the problem for a week.

A week later, we started losing connection again.

We called the support, same thing, upload too high they gonna lower it, and they're gonna send a technician to check the lines of the building we are in.

The Bell technician came to the apartment and checked the connection. According to him everything is good but our upload which is too low (??). So he raised it.

From that moment, electronic box gave up and told us that they don't know what the problem is, and strongly suggest it was our building the problem, which surprises me cause our previous internet connection was also on DSL and we experienced no problem at all.

Anyway, the support technician told us that the only way to get a better service was to switch up to the cable, which we agree. He also said that DSL was full of problems and that it was almost normal that we are having problems cause we are too close to the central, which was one of the selling point the seller told us months ago: "you're close to the central so you'll have full download speed at all times"

No one informed us that DSL was "full of problems" before selling it to us.

Now we are moving to the cable, which is 2000 time more reliable according to the support technician.

The problem is, we have to pay for a second modem, and installation fees, AGAIN.

Bounced off the remote

Sounds like you got bounced off of the remote you must have been on. Bell has to make room for their own clients so someone took your spot on the remote when you switched to Electronic Box.

To clarify, the DSL technology by itself is not less reliable when connected properly than the CABLE technology. What the technician probably meant is that 'in average' clients on the DSL network are calling more often for problems and it could be more difficult to get their problems fixed.

The most awful point about your service is your service in installation. It took around 1 month from the time that I ordered the cable service till a technician installed the service in my home. The other problem that I had was about activation of modem. Actually, I use a router between my modem and my laptop. I took me around 2 days to configure and install the router on my laptop. I expect when I pay around $50 for installation, the technician also do EVERYTHING about my internet and

Install

The installation period has nothing to do with Electronic Box as they send to Bell for DSL to dispatch a tech to make sure everything is fine and you get signal, that is their job.

If you had an issue with getting into the Internet you could've easily called up EBOX and they would've assisted you in getting your modem up and running.

Your poor experience

Hi there!

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with the installation, Unfortunately as we are trying to keep costs down for our clients the agreement we have with our cable provider does not include setting up any hardware.

The Delay is another thing we cannot control, we send out the request for your installation as soon as we open your account and wait for them to reply with the date.

We are always striving improve where needed, thus appreciate feedback like yours, however in this case we cannot do much to avoid this kind of displeasure in the future.

Suspension for Cable Service

I have encountered another problem. In the summer, I am gonna take a vacation for one month. I asked the support group of your company about suspension, and he replied me as follows:

>> With a cable internet service we cannot offer a "suspension" of your service, the only option would be a full disconnection but the cost to reconnect is 85$ and that is not worth it for only one month

I think that "disconnection" (suspension or anything that you call it) does not cost anything for Electronic BOX and this is just a excuse to charge customers continuously!

It seems like there may be a miscomunication, we currently do not offer a "suspension" for any period for any of our clients, what you quoted there was en exert form the email eboxnat sent you earlier.

SHe advised that we do not offer what you are asking for, that in some cases for our clients we can offer a disconection for long term "suspensions" but have no choice but to charge the 85$ fee to reconnect. Our cable provides has not given us any decent options for this type of situation.

Some other providers may offer a month of two of "suspensions" but some other providers will also charge you for some silly things that we don't.

And agian (as mentioned by eboxnat) feel free to contact us with any issue or concern.

they are ok the service is great and no interuptions but they do crazy things with your monthly fees like charging your credit card when you are supposed to be paying thru your bank and charge you extras

Been blaming a US company for not sending/replying to emails since Feb 14 2011. I received an attachment copy of it in a following email. This morning, I funally receive the original email from Feb 14. Ebox servers are out of date or fucked! Finally glad to get rid of them and their useless cheap spam filtering software! Going with some professionals who appear to know WTF they're doing in the business.

I am really sorry to hear that. Can you send me your account number so i can verify the details. Our email system is based on 7 different open-source mechanism and technique to filter the remote mail server. Some of the techniques were argued recently that are based on RFC. We decided to remove the condition on our mail system.

the cable POI had a lattency problem due to a congestion, wasn't that bad.

Now the price is updated... 89.99/300gb, or 20/10 39.99 outch.

I'm using between 300-500GB/month, there is no more place for me I guess.

I also was wondering why Radioactif is 5$ cheaper, using the same 3men@work network

Mlppp still have no ETA, and voip is too expensive alone 19.95/mo. If in some month MLPPP is set up, I would think about going back to Ebox, voip+dryloop+dsl5 unlimited 59.99, It's a great deal, but without MLPPP...

I am happy to pay for what i get, cable 7mbps, downloading 725 KB/s, seem to be great lol

Voip service is ok, but the greatest part is I'm no more using bell lines at all!

The only problem was the installation, Videotron wholesale dept close at 4:30, and the tech came at 4:55, But still, the tech was a good rasta, so he called videotron itself to make my profile reset

Ebox customer service is great, I even talk to J-P , the owner, when help was needed, WOW

Great to do buisness with you

It cost bit more then all the other isp : 99$ installation, 109$ cable modem if you dont have one.

But who else offer a TRUE 7mbps!?, never saw that before. And better, NO contract!!!, and no need to talk to Videotron employe!
