I pay $50 per month for the basic plan (768kbs down 128kbs up) and it is definitely not worth it. First got service in January of '07. White antenna mounted on side of house. Around June, started having signal problems, intermittent connection. Called tech support, said antenna was bad, replaced it. Worked for a month. Started having same problems. Called tech support again, said it was the modem that was bad. Repairman comes, says antenna is bad, replaces with a new version, doesn't touch modem. Works for 2 months, again, same problem. They still said the modem was the problem. Serviceman came, put a 8' pole up about 10' from the house, from then to now, have had 4-5 bars signal. I play lots of online games and even though the ping is usually less than 150ms, I get terrible lag playing Halo 3 and such. Going to call Windstream tomorrow and see if they are available here. I can get a 12mbit connection for just $40.

"faster than dial up in areas that can't get DSL/Cable"
"Upload speeds iffy - Price could be better compared to local DSL/Cable"
"Good alternative for those who cant get typical broadband"

I'm neither severely disappointed nor thrilled with WatchTV's Internet service. My advertised speed is 512/64. Download speeds have fluctuated between 250-480 since service was installed. Upload speeds have been no better than 48k. Usually they are in the 28-32 range. If I lived in an area that offered DSL, I would jump on the bandwagon in a second, but at least I get a package deal with WatchTV's cable tv service.

As of June '06 I'm still with WatchTV. The last couple weeks have brought some connection problems which tech support has reported as backbone problems that they are working to resolve. Thus, I have lowered my rating of connection reliability.
