    I've been a DSL subscriber for seven years at the same address (Conestoga, Dejazzd, D&E). The speed of the line was excellent, but within the past six months has become intermittently very slow with speed tests showing apprx 350 down / 50 up on my 960/256 line.

    I've had a few issues with the DSL modem that D&E has handled well. Their office is 10 miles from my home and I've been able to get phone support and equipment replacement very quickly. Upload speeds are pathetic at 64kbps at best with 256kbps being advertised. Download speeds are normally about 400kbps at best and not the 960kbps advertised. Seems like the DSL modem stays synch'ed but often communication appear to just stop or slow down significantly at times. Bottom line from looking at other speed test results is that it appears that businesses get the fastest connections while the home users suffer. My phone line with DSL and other services including voice mail costs about $90 per month even though I make very few phone calls on the line (I use cell phone for calls). This makes Comcast's cable internet very attractive and competitive. I have decided to drop D&E for phone and DSL and go to Comcast and Vonage for Internet and phone.

    Note to D&E: I warned you to improve your connection performance/speed or risk losing customers to cable. With VOIP available, I'm sure that you are beginning to lose many customers because your internet DSL service is not fast and your phone prices are not economical. Thanks for providing the excellent service previously but, my patience and loyalty with you has fun out. I have also sold my D&E stock based on your inability to offer products and services that keep up with your competition.
