After a year and a half still the best! Great customer service, an accidental provision change was corrected within two minutes of calling them.
Update! Since being acquired by Comcast it has gone to the dogs. My previous 5 meg connection that used to tach out at 4.9+ now is in th high 3's or low 4's. They count the 5 now as connection speed to the local office where it is all stuffed into an under performing pipe. They have added upteen thousand people from surrounding communities and have done little to improve the system.

The system has got slower and slower. They define the speeds as between your connection and the central office. They have added subscribers and never increased the pipe to the back bone. I am now down to an average of 1.7 on a 5 megline if I go to the various sites.
The service is the same great technicians which were retained when comcast bought out PBT. Comcast on a scale of 1 to 10 is a low 1.
It is a shame that comcast is more concerned with revenue than service. As this is a small town there is no competition so the can do what ever they want and laugh at at any complaints.

This review is concerning the PBT Cable Modem broadband, not their DSL service.
I have had Cable Modem broadband from PBT Telecommunications for almost a year now, in fact I think that I was their first customer for cable modem. They have been a DSL provider for years but are very new to broadband over cable.
The service is great when it is working. I am paying for 5mb download speed and sometimes it clocks out at almost 7! Upload speeds are also as good as or better than promised.
The bad news is that the service goes down a lot. Sometimes 2 or 3 times per week and each time requires a technician to come out to the house and "fix" something up on the pole, usually the next business day. There are no afterhours or weekend repairs.
In addition to being down a lot there also appears to be a lot of "noise" (if that is a correct term to use in regards to broadband service) on the line from time to time.
During working hours you can call and talk to someone who will put in a trouble ticket for you. If you call after hours you have to talk to the "tech support" people that they have sub-contractred for this. These people are untrained script readers who's sole purpose is to make sure that you understand that the problem is on your end, not theirs. All they can do is read their scripts and tell you to reboot everything. If you can put up with their BS long enough you can usually get them to submit a trouble ticket that will eventually find it's way to PBT and they will dispatch a technician.
Update: PBT has spent a lot of money running new distribution line to my house and replacing a lot of their equipment. Service is now considerably better than it used to be, although still not as reliable as I would like. I really appreciate their efforts to improve and will probably stick around as a customer for a while to see where it ends up.

Good "Its fast when it wants to be." Bad "Net goes out constnatly. I have had my net go out at least 20+ times a night. I am still having problems and no real fix yet" Overall "Sadly its all I can get in my area... but very poor help becuase no real after hour help.... and very poor net reliability"

I would like to say I have been with them for a good while now, but there service is very faulty. Due to there expanding when you call during day for help there is always a long delay to talk to someone. I have so many problems itd take forever to go into detail. But here are few...
During non working hours there is no real help. They have uneduacted people who cant assist you in REAL issues such as billing or account problems or even net reliablity. You get what they call a tech service at night wich really is an uneduated bunch who just say we refer you to costomer service the next day. Not all of us are able to do all of our tech work during the day! Also the net reliability is very poor... it goes down MANY times every night. They send a man out here who checks his stocks on my computer and says theres no problem, becuase hes not there at time its usualy crashing always. Thankfully DURING THE DAY they have great tech help. They will work with you, but again sadly since im at work during the day, they tell me what I can try when I get home and if that doesnt work I have to wait all night to talk to them again the next day. It takes forever to get anything fixd. I would like to say I am not very happy with there service. If I was offered any kind of net out where I live that even compares to them via gameing and such, I would join them in a heartbeat.
