Spain
$52 per month
about 60 days
"free national calls, no contract (impossible to break in Spain)"
"Promised up to 6 mega but deliver 2 mega at best - frequent outages"
"Sux but not worth the effort to try another - none are very good"

Took two months for Jazztel to co-ordinate with Telefonica (the phone company) to get it running. Sent the router and install disc which all worked fine when the connection was finally made.

After 2+ years I still shudder when there are line problems because getting cooperation between the company controlling ADSL (Jaztel) and voice (Telefonica) in very very difficult.

Advertised up to 6 mega but only deliver 2 mega at best. Pay equiv of US$40 for service and there is no contract. Would be cheaper with 18 month contract but no thanks. Have to pay to get out of a contract here. Too much hassle also.

After 2+ years with the bad exchange rate it is now $52 per month for the same 2.0-2.5 mega.

I see ads for combined voice/data all from Jaztel that Might be a better deal but don't want to make changes.

STILL Frequent breaks in connection. Frequent loss of service.

Use wireless router with three computers running XP: two hooked up by cable and one by wireless.

    I think is PPoE

Tech support is fair/poor - sometimes you get lucky and get someone who knows what they are doing. All operators are stationed in Argentina as far as we can tell. Know very little about local conditions and cannot help usually.

Well, to start with. I order the pack ONLY if it came with TV over DSL. They said yes. IT DIDN'T (they STILL don't support it after nearly 2 years).

I order this pack, and insist on getting it. 20MB + TV + Local & National phone calls flat rate (no mobile package was ordered) + Wifi Router (they even said it was free).

Then, I received. 20Mb line (synchronizing at 10 -12 Mb (max.) but going at no more than 6 Mb peak speed (2-3 Mb Average)), NO TV, Local, National & MOBILE package (which I DIDN'T order, meaning extra charges), NO Wifi Router but a PSEUDO-ROUTER-Modem (Sagem 1200, check on the web. You will understand) instead.

I should send it all back as soon as it arrived, but ... unfortunately it took so long to receive the package, there where nobody else offering anything over 6 Mb at the time (6 Mb that where never 6Mb and very VERY EXPENSIVE), plus i didn't know about the mobile extra charge until the end of the month after.

Yes, people, that's the horrible truth about internet in Spain. The government should get the phone lines, install new ones of higher quality and rent them equally to every telecom company in Spain to be FAIR. (At the moment, one company owns the vast majority of the lines and resell them to the others, limiting many factors as, prices, bandwidths, quality and time of installation of your line (telefonica, the owner of the lines can take 15 days, for others like jazztel nor less than a month S )

Well that's all. I hope one day we can get rid of all this leeches that get benefit of us for ... nearly nothing :'o(

    it works fine to me

I got Jazztel 4 years ago, I never got any problem with them, I get over 13Mb very stable, I don't have the tv though, if you are getting a bad signal it's because you are too far from the CO, or because the quality of your line is bad,
Do you live in the south? it would work fine if you were living in a city.
Anyway, Telefonica is rolling out fiber optic to the home in those area that are worthwhile like big cities (up30Mb), Jazztel is working with VDSL and it will be available by this year i read the top speed will be up 50Mb,
