Would not work without at least a panel antenna but I expected that at this point. Had a grid for Sprint. I ordered via 3Gstore. I have a UML290 and I bought a nexaira router replacing a cradlepoint MBR1000. Only real gripes are that the signal seems to be all over the board causing drops and uploads seem to be very slow. member for 16.3 years, 217 visits, last login: 208 days ago lodged 13.2 years ago
After spending years on Verizon's reliable 3G Broadband network, I left for 1 week to try VMB's cheap unlimited 3G Broadband. It was so unreliable, I went back to Verizon and signed up for 4G, which is actually $10 cheaper than the 3G plan I had, with the same 5GB limit. The speed is awesome. After running several speed tests, I'm averaging about 14/7MB, and this is during peak hours.. While some people will prefer plans with more than a 10GB limit, I'm OK with the 5GB plan, and $10 for each GB over. member for 15.8 years, 3970 visits, last login: a few hours ago updated 13.3 years ago
I have a Verizon Wireless Data card and have had one for year's. As of late with many new smartphone's being activated on the network recently, the speed's have declined greatly. I am lucky to even achieve 2 mb's now. With that said, the coverage and consistency of VZW Broadband on the EVDO network is great!! It work's in very rural area's that would dream of having broadband in the years before. They typically have better 3G coverage in AL and I can't complain about that. If you need reliable and consistent coverage and don't mind 500kb-1mbps then VZW is great. Now in other less congested area's I have easily hit 2.5-3mbps so YMMV. member for 17.7 years, 2251 visits, last login: 12.6 years ago updated 13.3 years ago
I have had Broadband Access off and on for about 4 years, and it is definitely the most solid of all the carriers. The speed is nothing to call home about, but no matter where in Chicago I am, the connection is always up. I tried Clear, but it was very spotty when in motion. I currently use the 3G Hotspot feature on my Droid Incredible. Tech support has been lukewarm, with slightly more good experiences than not. member for 15.5 years, 2167 visits, last login: 1 day ago lodged 13.4 years ago
I recently upgraded from the 3 Mb to the 7.1 Mb package. The upgrade process was anything but easy. I was unable to connect for almost a week after the upgrade was competed. Several calls, supervisors, techs, and hours spent on the phone later I am now back in business. The connection is great, as well as the speed. member for 19.7 years, 583 visits, last login: 9.7 years ago updated 13.9 years ago

When I first got Verizon DSL it took a while to get some connection problems fixed, but now it has been over a year with no problems. So I am happy. Because of the distance from the office I can't get a higher speed, so I waiting for Verizon FIOS to migate to. Good value for the money. member for 23.2 years, 98 visits, last login: 2.1 years ago lodged 15.1 years ago
This software is ok... The air card works everywhere. The only problem I have encounter is if using it while mobile; ie; in the car while moving, it will sometimes drop the connection. But for the most part it works all of the time.. member for 21.6 years, 38 visits, last login: 15 years ago lodged 15.1 years ago

If your constantly mobile Verizon BroadbandAccess is great. I'm currently in limbo with my living situation and plus I'm starting a mobile business. I connect to Verizon BroadbandAccess through a USB connected to my Voyager (LG VX10000). Their service was exactly what I needed for the time being and I'll probably keep it when I'm settled just for my business. So far, it's reliable, but speeds fluctuate depending on location. On one side of town I get ~350kbps and the other ~1,200kbps. Either speed is usable for my needs, but you can't stream video on 350kbps very well (see paragraph 4). The install is very easy and really requires no special software. The phone is detected as a modem and you can set it up just as you would a dial-up connection. I run Ubuntu Linux, so I couldn't use their software anyway. The dial-up number is #777 and the username is your phone number and the password is vzw. The first time you connect and try to pull up the web you're automatically redirected to the ordering page. After accepting their terms & conditions you just disconnect and reconnect in a few minutes while your account is being provisioned. I was online in 5 minutes. I've tried the VZAccess Manager software on Windows and it is a bit more useful. Their software will show you your signal strength and report to you how much bandwidth you have used for your billing period. Which brings us to the bandwidth cap. It's 5/GB a month. I wouldn't suggest streaming video on a constant basis as it does tend to use a lot more bandwidth. It's $0.25 per MB once you exceed the bandwidth cap. Overall I'm happy with the service. The price is a bit much at $60 a month, but I think it is worth it considering how convenient it is. member for 15.1 years, driveby review (so far) updated 15.1 years ago |
