I have had this for 6 months now without a glitch, I have even home networked 2 computers off of it. I average 125k down and 132k up where I live. The closest true broadband area is 60 miles from me, but when I'm in that area it really smokes....and where I live I do like the speed and reliability, and I have unlimited B/W no fap.

The connectivity is generally excellent. The VZAccess software is a bit kludgy... sometimes takes a few tries to get everything running... but for mobile access it is great.

VZN support can help you create a DUN connection. | |

Thought about Sprint but they didnt cover this area (southern NJ shore). Speeds are sitting around 1.3 to 1.5 Mbps d/l and about 800k upload. Nice so far. Order at store, painless. Install, simple. Use, easy.
Using a 5750 PC card, pop it in and off you go. No issues so far.
Follow up 10/07: Since DSL Reports found my review so great they used it on the front page, I figured I would follow up. So far, the service has been stellar. Use it daily for hours, no problems, no drops, no issues at all. Even tested it out on a 80 mile ride through NJ, dropped 1 time out in the Pinelands. Speeds are still solid at DSL range. 1.2-1.4 meg down, about 400 - 800k up depending on time of day and location.
All in all, very happy with the service.

I think i payed $70 a month for the service. I used to pcmcia adapter for one of my desktop comps and shared to other comps with MS ICS and a router with DHCP turned off. it wasn't good for gaming at all. Verizon only had the slower speeds in my area but as soon as they upgraded the tower (which i can see from my house) my speeds were doubled and then some. I went nuts and tried to dload everything under the sun. Verizon didn't like this and there you have it. Coolest thing about the whole deal: They shut me off with out having to pay the cancellation feel. I'd recommend doing this so you can get out of your service if you need to.

I have a qualifying voice plan so I am able to get the service for $59.99 but without it, it will cost $79.99. It's expensive but it's reliable and fast using a Rev A card. Very easy to order and install on Windows XP, only had one connection issue where when in NYC, the card would constantly switch between 1x and EVDO. A call to tech support fixed the issue right away.

I looked at other companys, like Alltel which had EV-DO is my area 48650 Pinconning, MI. Before Verizon did, but after Verizons was on.... I was kinda happy with the service, but I still fight to get 1 Bar at home, forcing me to spend money on a Repeater for my phone...
But if your out in the sticks and happen to get a good cell signal... for $60 a month you get unlimited (Almost 1 Mbit) hehe service... Better than Dial-up tho!

"A great service for those on the go. Works indoors and outside."

Much faster than AT&T and a better / more stable network than Sprint. Broadband Access is a very good choice for those than travel and need access from remote locations or don't want to connect thru a WiFi hotspot of unknown security.

I had this installed about two weeks ago. It supposed to be 3meg down 768 up. My neighbors do get those speeds. I however get 147k down and 680k up. Vzn tells me the line is "perfect" and refuses to do anything about it. They run a line test from their side and get 3 meg. Obviously they aren't actually testing the line. They are looking at the DSL sync numbers which do say 3 meg. They won't address the problem. Now I am really screwed because I signed up for triple whatever and if I cancel DSL I lose my other discounts. It's a nightmare.
Any ideas on how to get past the script readers in india and get someone to actually fix this?

I was busy after moving in to my first house, and I scheduled a day off for Comcast to show up and install. I spent the entire day off from work waiting for them to show up on their scheduled visit window, and they never did. I expect a service company to render service, not ignore me, particularly when they set the date. Two weeks later I was RIF'd at my job after a merger, so the cheapest service was the only answer now. A week later I got another generic flier in the mail for Comcast services, and decided they were clueless, so I went to see what my DSL options were, and Verizon was it.
I have 1.5/384 service, was half that until they doubled things a year or two ago. I have one of the 2200 series modems, and I run it in bridged mode since I have a Cisco 3620 firewall/router of my own.
Funny thing about the package they sent to start up the service. It claimed my system wasn't up to spec for the service. Dual Xeon P4 2.8Ghz, 2GB RAM, high performance SCSI disk system, ATI RADION AGP All-inWonder video and Windows 2003 wasn't up to spec? I think they need to review their software.
Only note: I did have to be the pseudo-bully to get to a second level tech to help me get into the DSL modem and get it into bridged mode. After that, I've had no issues with them.
Additional: To this day, Comcast still sends the service offer fliers, sometimes in Spanish because some Marketing Dweebs in their company think my last name is ethnically Spanish. IT'S ITALIAN, THANK YOU!
I beg Verizon to send FIOS soon, as I never want Comcast near my place. I don't really care about TV, as most programming these days is a waste of my time.
Irony to all this? My next door neighbor's live-in boyfriend is a Comcast installer, and parks his van on the street overnight. He's a nice enough neighbor, but has no clue how I hate his company so.
