PLDT DSL SUCKS!

Being one of the original TelCos here in the Philippines, this company
has a virtual monopoly of the telecommunications industry. We have had
phone service with them for more than 20 years and when we got their DSL
service about 2 years ago, that's when I realized that there is very little consumers can do against these companies.

Here are some of the non-technical areas of development for this
company:

1. Provide stand alone DSL service to residential customers. I don't
need a bundled phone and data service. There are already two phones and
several mobile phones in the house, I do not need one more.
2. Their local business offices route their call to a SECURITY GUARD,
someone who absolutely has no idea about customer service or even the
company that they are working for. Why can't they afford to get a decent
receptionist to receive their customer's calls?
3. Their technical support is one big joke. The people there really
follow a script and do not even have an iota of technical knowledge. How
many times do I have to power cycle my modem and bypass my router, there
has to be more than that. They always find a convenient excuse not to
own the issue, (I.e., you did not pay your bill, your service recently
got restored and that's why you're having browsing issues, when clearly
it starts timing out when running something as basic as trace route.)
4. People who are sarcastic and rude, that's a big no no in customer
service.

The sad thing is, all I can do is gripe about it. I really don't have a
choice since the DSL service of some providers is very patchy in my
area. C'est la vie.

It took 9 months to get it now I got it it is slow apart from PLDT sites when I do a test on PLDT site I get 1.5Mbs when I do it anywhere else I get about 46Kbs.

They have the worst customer service I have ever come across even after a nine months wait it was not until I found the cell phone number of a director of the company and start to hound him I got it.

I have traveled to many countries in the world and I have to say this is the worst internet ever.

And now to top it all we are getting even slower internet because of a earthquake in Taiwan its been one month and they still will not give a date they expect it back to normal read more here »tohellwithitall1.blogspot.com/

As I was writing this it Just come on TV that it will not be back to normal until Feb 21st this will be nearly 2 months.

The Philippines National Telecommunications Commission has asked everyone that has no or slow connections to report it to them »www.ntc.gov.ph/ so they can make the companies involved charge you a lower rate. the email address is at the bottom of their page
