TTNet offers various "packages" in which both the connection speed and monthly download capacity vary from limited to (theoretically) unlimited downloads and T1 speeds.
For example, a "1024/256kbps" connection with a cap of 1G per month costs 21.80YTL (less than $20.00US) per month not including VAT and "ozel iletisim vergisi" (private/personal communications tax). With taxes, the monthly cost is actually approximately 31.00YTL (less than $30.00US) for this package.
Subscribers should note that the Turkish government can and routinely does censor connections to websites which it believes violate Turkish law due to the nature of the websites' content.
Customer service is unremarkable as one might expect from what is theoretically a private concern but in practice remains a tightly controlled government monopoly. That said, there are truly private ISPs within Turkey. These ISPs lease lines from TTNet. Some people believe that the extra costs associated from using a private ISP are worth it due to perceived better customer service from a truly private provider.
Foreigners should bear in mind that a photo ID or, preferably, a passport or residence permit is mandatory and must be shown when applying for an internet account with any ISP.
For up to date information, the following link is suggested.

As for types of modems/routers permitted, TTNET provides the customer with a brochure which lists more than 20 brands. It is the responsibility of the customer to obtain and connect the router (this is usually done by a "technician" from the outlet where the modem/router was purchased). Once TTNET has activated a customer's account, the customer then schedules an appointment for hook-up by a "technician" from where the router was purchased.
Recommend that the customer ask, prior to purchasing the router or modem, if the "service technicians" have any prior, real-world experience with the equipment.Otherwise, a customer should NOT be surprised if the "technician" has to RTM (for the first time). The installation can take from as little as 15 minutes to much, much longer.
Obviously, TTNET accepts no responsibility for anything other than the line itself.

1 edit | My experiences I have had severely mixed results with this service provider. On the good days, it works very well. On the bad days, which are plentiful, there are numerous problems.
Just tonight i jumped on to browse the web. I had not had any applications doing any internet communication online for about 5 hours. However, i could not establish a PPP connection with their service. It eventually randomly came back up, but determining why it was down proved fruitless.
They offer support in English, either by selecting the option from the menu (if it presents itself as it did not this evening), or by asking the first rep you speak to after blindly punching options for "English, Lutfen" (loot-fen).
I currently utilize the 2048Kbps/512Kbps service. I don't know the cost because i believe i got a credit since i had been using 4096Kbps service and my building's infrastructure couldn't support it so it was downgraded. I am generally very happy with the speeds, as they are properly advertised. I check my speeds often by visiting:
»speedtest.ttnet.net.tr/
NOTE: Through an arduous process, i determined that this site does not work properly in Firefox.
I have never seen an ISP respond so quickly to a service call. I have called at 9PM to complain about a legitimate speed issue (of which the resolution was to downgrade the line speed), and they had a technician (who didn't speak english unfortunately) knocking at my door within 2 hours. Comcast would rather lie to you, say that there isn't a problem, schedule a service call for two weeks later, and in the meantime fix your problem so you look stupid when the tech arrives with a look on his face that you've just wasted his time.
All in all, for it to be the only option, once you know how to get support, at least you can expect that a fix action will get you back to where you need to be.
They censor all kinds of stuff by IP address. Hardcoded HOSTS files may not help you. | |

You cannot really find other options, as TTnet makes sure to keep any competition at bay, being that their owner, Turk Telekom owns the fiber optic networks. 4Mbps/1Mbps is the speed
TurkTelekom makes sure it pro-actively censor any content that may or may not be detrimental to the Turkish government. Countless websites are blocked, albeit most via DNS, so using FreeDNS.org usually does the trick.
All of whom live in Turkey could agree with me as to wanting more than one head-honcho providing reliable broadband services.

TTNet is the greatest company for ADSL and telecommunications in Turkey. But the line qualit is so low that you cannot achive high speeds.
