pay $39.00 a month for 1.5m pkg. have had the service for probably 10 years and except for the occasional modem losing connection (simply reset) absolutely no complaints. only svc available where i live besides one way cable. even if two way was available i would still stick with this svc and my directv. service electric catv is really bad in this area. cable splicers for d&e are currently splicing a new fiber remote in about 600ft from my house so looks like 10meg is in my future.yes!

I have had service for five years, and it has been a nightmare the entire time. No matter what speed they provide I can not have continued service for more then a week. I am being charged for one speed and being chocked down to the lowest speeds in order to keep the line from dropping. However the CRC errors cause all kinds of problems with web browser freezing and sending e-mails can me a real pain most times as the smtp server times me out. When I call tech support I have to set aside several days and several hours each day. Only for them to say see it up now we are closing the call. Then a few days latter the problem is back and I don't call as I don't have several hours and several days to deal with it. Seeking other options.

Considered the local cable option, but the service caps, previous POOR service, and EXTREMELY higher cost for the same level of service..... There is no way to beat D&E. I travel all the time and can VPN back through my Thompson 5x6 modem on a SUPER secure channel from anywhere in the US and World (so far). I will be uprading from the 10 Mbit service to the 50 Mbit service (gives 50 down, 10 up)... no caps, limits, no fuss... and, as always, 100% reliable and tech support that KNOWS EXACTLY what they are doing!!!

For those of you wondering about the 'caution' because I recently joined... this is the first time I thought to join. DSLREPORTS has ALWAYS been there and I have been submitting reports and using the tools from the very beginninng.

I am a professional Computer Engineer specializing in real-time, full fidelity simulation / communication. I also teach part time at the local CC and am considering a switch to full time teaching as I'm getting a bit too old to go 12+ hour time zone hopping.
