"Better than Dial-Up, good speed and ping."
"Like I'm always thinking, a speed upgrade."
"If you can get Wireless Internet, go for it. NDWave is my only Broadband provider, and they're great!"

Just when you thought you couldn't get Broadband again. Then, it happens! NDWave has had Broadband coverage in my area, for about a year and a half now. I've been on Dial-Up since then. Not noticing that I could get service with them. Thanks to my local farmer for telling me about this. Ordering was simple. Steve the owner, had AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). I first contacted him through email, then saw he has AIM. Took a few days to get the installation money ready. Once ready, I talked to him on AIM. Needed my Name, address, phone number, and time to come out to do the installation.
Installation was quick. Only took about 30 minutes to 1 hour to install. It was an older guy and younger. They knew what they were doing. Older guy said "We'll get you on the net." The antenna on the side of my house, is a Tranzeo 11Mbps Wireless LAN Station Adapter. It's not a very big antenna. Seeing the screenshots of the antenna on two houses, didn't look very big. But once you see if with real eyes, seems a little big. But I don't really care, as long as I'm getting a good connection. My signal from the access point antenna (which is across the street), to my antenna. Is 4 out of 4 lights lite, 4 meaning an Excellent connection.
The speeds I'm getting are advertised as 1Mb/Download and 300Kbps/Upload. The speeds I'm usually getting, are the image below...
Not too bad. As of today, my WISP is upgrading their backbone. So I should see pings around 20-30ms. I think that is with www.google.com. Steve said their plan is to optimize the service for "Gaming". Here is my Home Connection Setup
1. 11Mbps Tranzeo Wireless LAN Station Adapter (my WISP's antenna)
2. Almost a 50 foot Arc Category 5e Outdoor FTP Ethernet Networking Cable
3. Cable from outside antenna, goes to a small Tranzeo white box, then another Ethernet cable to the router
4. BUFFALO WHR-HP-G54 Wireless-G MIMO Broadband Router and Access Point
Pretty simple with a Wireless Internet connection. Just make sure your computers are all tweaked from BBR. I get a DHCP IP address from NDWave.
It's been about 3 years since I've had Broadband at home. I had Insight Broadband, before moving. At the time, the speeds were, ok. Download was 3Mb/s, but Upload was only 128Kbps. With NDWave, download may not be the best. But at least upload is better. I'll post more, when thoughts come to mind, or if anything new happens with NDWave. I hope NDWave stays in business for quite some time. Losing them, I must say "Goodbye to Broadband". But let's hope that doesn't happen. I just hope for better speeds... something like 2 or 3Mbps Download and 500Kbps-1Mbps Upload.
Update! - April 11th, 2007 ===
Steve from NDWave has told me. They have upgraded to a new backbone. Also, speeds should now be a full 1Mb Download and Upload from 300Kbps to 350Kbps. Seems to be working pretty well. Pings should also be lower. Google.com should ping around 20-30ms. I'm not really seeing that, mostly 40-50ms. Just a quick update. I should have posted this review after the effects were made.
