Changed to skybeam will make a new review right now about them.
*NEW DONE *

I will regularly edit this as i have only had it for just under a week at this time.

I tried for DSL, looked at another Wireless company that uses similar equipment and is more local, but only these guys had a 900mhz access point.

I started out ordering the 49.95 for 5mbps down and 1.5mbps up. The trees around me limit me to a 900mhz radio. No contracts with LP!

I get a great connection though and I run about 1.4mbps down and 500k up. I pay 39.95 for this far less than i paid for SAT and let me tell you what a difference the latency makes... WOW. Pings of 45ms to google.com. I have had cable here too and it was nowhere near this, at least in my area. half the speed seems faster and is in its relative way due to latency.

I ordered on a friday for install late monday. installer turned up early. Installer was a Great guy. Did great job even came back to try again. Finally found the window.

Equipment is Motorola Canopy 900 mhz radio.

I knew the installer, he did my wildblue install. He was the best part. I called to be sure he gets noticed for his stellar attitude and work. He tolerated my curiosity and slight hovering well. Haha I meant no harm.

LP uses a NOC or Gateway that shares its home in Cheyenne's center of town at the AT&T building with all the local DSL, wireless, and even Wildblues Chey NOC. Maybe even cable, maybe has its own noc.

Have had LPBroadband (now Skybeam) for almost a year and has been very good, with the exception that it seems the node I'm on at least, is oversold. During evening hours we experience slow speeds and trying to game with Xbox Live can be frustrating. A pathping test shows up to 20% packet loss on their network at times, which is surely causing these problems.

I change this review. LP is now Skybeam.com, and is terrible. Go somewhere else for service.

Very Reliable, clean connection, no down time
Tech support. And service does not come close to advertised speeds
Although they don't meet advertised speeds it is still fast and is always up

Purchased their advertised 5 Meg Down, 1.5 Meg up package @ 49.95/month and no contract. I have NEVER come close to those speeds. Best ever was 3.5 Meg Down, 910K up. Usual speed is 1.5 - 2 Meg Down, and 810k Up. All-in-all pretty good for just internet use and 2 VoIP lines.

Tried to call tech support to see if they could correct the speed issues. You are asked to leave a message and your call will be returned within 24 hours. I called 2 months ago, still waiting for the call back. But aside from the speed the service is top notch, If you don't need a lot Download speed for P2P or something similar this service crushes Comcast. I was with Comcast for 4 years and was never even close to as happy with them as I am with LP Broadband.

UPDATE:

Well, I've been with them almost a year now (9 months I think). At this point I still stand behind my original review. The service is solid, only one down period for about a half hour. Connection is clean, not throttling, blocking, etc. But still doesn't come close to the advertised speeds, for me though that is ok.

LPBroadband via Horsetooth node

I just had LPBroadBand installed. I now have both LP and Comcast.

The first two days speed was horrible. Tech support said the radios need to be QCed. This one done two days after the install.

The next morning (early) speeds were as advertised. In fact testing using speakeasy chicago speed test gave 7100 down, and 1600 up.

However as people wake up and the node gets busy speeds drop. At 8pm my usual is 800 down, 800 up. I've called tech support as I think it should be better when busy... IE somewhere between 2500 and 5000 would be acceptable.

Like the previous review tech support never answers emails and often takes most of a day or more to call back.

Since I use this for business out of my home I'll have to keep both LP and Comcast for a while as a backup.
