When SunRocket went out, I wasn't sure who to go with and wanted to do some research first.

While researching, I found the admin password for my Linksys device. I was thrilled I could log in and change my setting. Unfortunately, I didn't change my password, because I didn't foresee TeleBlend purchasing SR's servers or info. Well, as most people know, TeleBlend changed the admin passwords for the devices. I see as them breaking into my house and changing the locks.

I called them, and they refuse to give it up, probably because they believe they'd lose custormers if people can reprogram their VOIP gizmos.

Well, my wife was jumping all over me for home service, and I felt that they had a good price for SR refugees, so even though I was pissed that they broke into my box and changed the password I signed up.

The service is CONSTANTLY dropping and their support is horrible.

I'm glad I went month to month.

AVOID TELEBLEND at all costs!!! I'm looking at ViaTalk or BroadVoice.

    TeleBlend

My biggest problem with TeleBlend is that they don't let you "call block" a partial phone number (less than 10 digits) so a particular collection agency passes a few bogus digits to get around the "Unknown" status and wants someone who does not live here. I will switch to any VoIP company that will let you block the number 1302.

I took their bait of signing on with their advertised promise of seamless transfer from Sunrocket as I needed to keep my current number. I wish I had known they were using the old Sunrocket equipment as it's been down more than up. I have had Teleblend for almost a month now and there is not a single day that the service was completely not working or the incoming and voicemails do not work.

I'd give them a 3 for Ease of Installation of the ATA, It was a BYOD from Sunrocket, haha

It's fine if you expect no one to call you and if you never need to make a call when you need to I suppose. Support is also poor if that was in question at this point.

Ok....again no incoming calls again......but call forwarding is working...outgoing calls saying "sunrocket service has been disconnected..." after I've already paid the monthly fee for Teleblend....:(

Why is it so hard to run this business?

    Teleblend is terrible

I signed up in August as a former Sunrocket customer. I immediately had outbound calls, but no inbound calls, no caller ID, or Voicemail. It's been 2.5 months now and many customer tickets and emails later, the company has still not ported my number and given me full access!! Its so frustrating!! They even charged me a second time for the account. I hate TELEBLEND and wish them hell!

On 7/17 after learning about the imminent crash and burn of SunRocket I signed up with Teleblend because I wanted to keep the phone number that I have had for over 10 years. Since the company had been in business for 1 day I was VERY leery...signed up for 1 month using a virtual credit card number with a very low limit. At the same time I signed up with ViaTalk to be my new permanent VOIP provider and put in a number port request.

I do use international calling quite often, so I was glad to see that Teleblend was advising that their international plan was the same as SunRocket. Unfortunately I lost all international calling ability on 7/17, and as of today 8/9 I still cannot make international calls on the Teleblend service. I have since received my ViaTalk ATA and am quite happy with their service, but I would have liked to take advantage of the free international minutes that I should have with Teleblend. They claim to be gradually restoring international calling.

I just checked again....Teleblend says "Update: Thu, Aug 9, 2007 10:59:10 AM CDT
We are bringing more international calling capacity online today. Please be advised that rates are now being posted to our site and we will be adding links to that information shortly. Please check back often for updated information."

    Whatever......

Of course I was also impacted by the massive Teleblend incoming call outage of 8/6 until 8/8. Teleblend initially tried to blame that outage on Global Crossing for the outage on their website, but then hastily retracted that accusation, likely after a pow-wow with Global Crossing's attorneys.

    In summary:

Other than the 8/6 - 8/8 outage I have had continuous service (except international of course).

The transition from SunRocket was easy because no number port was required.

I am keeping my old phone number alive until I am ported.

BUT - I will just be glad when my port is complete and I can cancel my Teleblend service.

Claims to be a "quick" and easy transfer - far from it. I switched on July 28th and I still I no dial tone. I have opened 5 (yes five) different tickets for the same issue and I have not received one response. Most of the CSRs were polite despite the situation, but I did run across one that was very, very rude saying that had a lot going on processing lots of customers. I asked if I could escalate my ticket and they said they worked on them 1st come 1st served. My cc was initially charged the fees, but since I can't even get a response to my emails, my only hope is to dispute the charges each month. My advice - if you can get a good local plan (POTS), or cable - go with it until the dust settles.

I switched to Teleblend because I didn't know when Sunrocket was

When I called customer (dis)service, he more or less said

    Also switched to Teleblend

I also switched to Teleblend to keep my phone number. I have had multiple problems and have put in tickets with no response from Teleblend except an email with my ticket number on it. I also have lost incoming phone calls since last Friday. I have been in contact with Teleblend support on the phone and was told on Sunday that the issue of not being able to receive incoming calls would be fixed by today. I still have no incoming calls. I will be trying to call them again later tonight and if this is not resolved by Tuesday I will be looking for another provider.

    Re: Also switched to Teleblend

I just got off the phone with my nightly call to Teleblend. Still getting the run around regarding not receiving any incoming calls. I was told they had no idea of when it was going to be taken care of. I was told this issue was involving more than NYS calls. They said the outside vendor was sending the calls someplace else. I am at my witts end and am switching from Teleblend as soon as possible. I don't feel that they can ever get it corrected.

    Too bad about the rocket

Seems like the same old story. Company goes out of business, upper mgmt. starts another co. and keeps making money. Have you noticed the Teleblend website looks very similar to Sunrocket and they are ONLY offering service to Sunrocket customers, not new subscribers. Rumors are that it is a spin off company by the people who ran Sunrocket. Seems very possible to me.

The unfortunate thing is that Sunrocket service was great for me....this is year 2 for me (started in Dec. 05) and now that they went under I lost the money I paid for the rest of this year (I pre-paid the $199). Right now our home phone is still on, but I am swtiching to another company in the next few weeks. Trying to decide if I should go with another VOIP or use Verizon FIOS for phone (I currently have the TV and internet with them). Anyone know about VOIP.com ? I am staying away from the 2 companies recommended by Sunrocket - Teleblend and Packet 8

Re: Too bad about the rocket

so frustrated here in New Jersey. I have not been able to get an incoming call for 17 days now. My customers think I went out of business. The message they hear is please check the number and dial again. They (teleblend) have given me 5 dates when the service would be restored the date passes and still no service this company is pathetic. Please do not sign up with TELEBLEND. I have signed up with another company and the service is excellent Im just waiting for my number to be ported.

    Wizzard

    @sbcglobal.net

The following is a letter (one of many) that I wrote to VoIP.com. They have not responded to this one as well as others that I have written. Do not use them. I hope that this info does not come to late for you. With SR I just plug it in and had phone service
    -----------------------------
I am tired of having my contract start on the 21 of July but not have the equipment shipped until the August 1, then not having any number until the 8th of August, and then not having the ability to make out going call until august 11. I received the equipment on August 2. By your own rules the service date was to start when you shipped the equipment NOT the day that I call to sign up for service (Jul 21) or the day someone entered the shipping tag (Jul 23). These dates can be verified by looking at the FedEx tracking number 703184810101406 and your own records.

Because of the customer system you have in place, I am running out of time within my grace period. I would like to give you more time to fix these problems, but since you have stated the contact 11 day before the equipment was shipped, 19 days before I had a number, and 22 day before I had full service there is not much time left for me to get my old number ported over. And to be blunt, at this point I do not have much faith in you to get it ported over in the time that is left. That will mean that I will lose a number that I have had for more that 15 years. This number was special in that it had an extended inbound call range. I realize that outbound calls on VoIP do not cost, but if my wife wanted to call from work in Dallas to home it was a free call from the company’s phone.

As it stands right now, you have me as having your service for 27 days. Two days ago you CR had my service date adjusted to the 11 of August as directed by her supervisor, which was the first day that I had complete service. She said that my grace period would adjust with that date and start my grace period from the 11 of August. The grace period has not been adjusted. If I do not see that adjustment on the 17th of August or hear from you that it will be adjusted, I will have to sign with someone else, whether I lose the number or not. This a great chance for you to turning me from a disgruntled custom to a singer of your praise. I am hopping that I have reach the right people and that you really do care.

Oh yes, one other thing. I had a number change that was not supposed to happen. When talking with on of your Tech-help people I discovered that there was not any record of my request to have my old number ported over. He then led me step by step to port over the number. Unfortunately he led me to the wrong link and we requested a new number, I already had a temp number in my area code. He said that he would write to billing not to change me. However the charge is there. I should not be charged for follow tech-support’s instructions.

I thank you in advance for looking into this matter and would ask you that we have a voice dialog at best or at least direct E-mail with out going though the support tickets. They never seam to get taken care of and I can not start a new ticket until the old one is closed. That one was last added to on the 13th of august and has not been responded to as of yet.

Wow, those are certaintly not good stories.

To give you an update, I was doing a lot of research about what company to switch to for continuing VOIP service, or perhaps switch to Verizon FIOS for my phone (I have FIOS for both TV and Internet, a 15/5 fiber optic speed is incredible, but that is besides the point). If I did Verizon it would be about $40 a month for the phone, a bit higher than VOIP, but it is a hard line (fiber actually instead of copper like a traditional phone).

After reading tons of reviews and looking at prices and weighing the options, I made my decision. And guess what? It surprised even me. I decided to go with TELEBLEND....shocking, right? Well, let me tell you why and then I will give you an update about how the switch went.

First off, the main reason I was NOT going to use Teleblend was that I thought it was a spin-off of SunRocket with the upper management trying to make a new company to keep making money and who knows how long the service would last. Well, that is not the case. Teleblend was started by USA Telephone which is a company based in Maine, USA and is a part of the larger United Systems Access Telecom, Inc. That made me feel better and seeing that they slapped the 'Teleblend' website together kind of made sense since Teleblend was created to serve only Sunrocket customers (at the moment, but that may change), so the website had a similar color scheme, etc. By the way since they first put the website up in mid-July, Teleblend has added a lot of info. and does explain who they are and has a FAQ section. Not a ton of info., but they have not just left it empty, so that shows me that they are actually doing something and trying to listen to customers and respond to concerns.

OK, so with the decision made to switch to Teleblend I went on-line on AUGUST 2nd and signed-up (with fingers crossed!). Now keep in mind that at this point I still had Sunrocket service and it was still working (pretty good considering a lot of SR customers were cut off weeks ago). BUT I saw notices that SR service would not continue past August 5TH, so I had to make a move no matter what.

A few things that I liked about going with Teleblend (TB) are:
    1. I could keep my phone # and there is no porting
    2. I could keep the SR gizmo box
    3. Essentially I had to do nothing to actually make the switch happen
    4. TB is charging $12.85 for the rest of the months on my SR contract (until JAN 08) and then $19.99 after that

    Now the negatives:
    1. No voicemail at this point, they plan to add it later
    2. Caller ID does not work like it should (did not know that at the time, but now I do....this is something that I am trying to get fixed currently)
    3. I lost about 5 months of the SR $199 annual amount I paid -- around $83 - that is not TB's fault, but it still is a negative in the whole scheme of things

OK back to AUGUST 2nd and the sign-up....I did it, they charged my CC the $12.85 (or close to that) and sent me a confirmation e-mail. So now the phone service is still up & running and the days roll forward: August 3,4,5.....still up.....6,7,8,9....still up. At this point I am thinking everything is great, seamless transition, exact same service with a few small exceptions. Then on Friday AUG 10th -- BAM!!! No service.

In fact I get a recording when trying to call outbound that says something like 'Your SR service has ended, if you want to continue service with TB, please press '0'. Then when I press '0' it hangs up on me.
Now I am thinking oh no, here we go with the nightmare. So I went to the website, put in a service request and then get an e-mail saying they are working on it.
I call the toll-free customer service # and wait on hold for an hour....no one picks up. NOT GOOD.
I call back later and after 45 min. a person picks up. A minor miracle. I tell them about the problem and they tell me that TB has been switching SR customers over by geographic areas and the service is out because they are working on my area. I was suspicious about this explanation, especially since SR was cutting off by Aug. 5th no matter what. So to me that means that I already had TB for the past week. In any case, I said OK and asked them how long until my service was restored. They gave me the usual 'our people are working around the clock' speech. I said OK well see how it goes.

So the weekend goes by, still no service. On Monday 8/13 I call again and wait another hour on hold before a rep answers (I found out that the call center was in Arizona, which actually made me feel a bit better because USA Telephone is located in Maine, so this means that they were actually using more resources to help customers if they are adding a call center (third-party I'm sure, but better than nothing) to field calls. Now I am told that there seems to be no record of my problem from Friday in the system. I stay calm and ask them to make comments about the service being OFF. Then I ask them to open a trouble ticket. The rep says, OK hold on... a supervisor will give you a call back right now to help resolve the problem. Then I ask him 'what phone # do you have for me' and he gives me my HOME #.....I laugh and say 'Uh...that is the one with NO SERVICE, how is the Sup going to call me on that line?' Silence, of course. So I give a cell phone # and ...... (no huge surprise) the SUP never calls me back.

So on Tuesday August 14, the unexpected happens....the service is restored! My phone is back up and working. So since then it has worked fine.

All in all, the switch over was far from painless, but it was not as bad as it could have been. The service was down about 4-5 days, but I am not that upset when you consider that TB really is working to fix everything. I have NO DOUBTS that they are flooded with calls from SR customers and their engineers are working long hours to make sure everyone is up & running. Yes, it could be better, but the same can be said about almost everything.

So that is my run-down. I will provide future updates as needed.

    Teleblend no way

    @comcast.net

Have had teleblend since 7/26, everything was fine, last 3 days, no longdistance calls can be made, not even in the U.S.

So I can't decide what service to permanently move to from SunRocket.

I am still very upset with Vonage for their termination fees after I cancelled due to voice quality problems - which turned out to be my Comcast HSI connection.

I've been waffling between Packet8 and ViaTalk not wanting to deal with porting issues. Then TeleBlend comes in and takes over my Sunrocket service and offers $13 monthly service for the extent of my contract offering the "same services"

The problem is, I have no voicemail, no forwarding, no follow me features, no call logs...

The only thing online is very basic payment and password options.

Here's their claim from the website

"TeleBlend Internet phone service offers you outstanding customer
service along with all of the products and features of SunRocket."

On the positive, I have ringtone, people can call my old phone number and the voice quality is good.

On the negative side, it's a wait and see as far as how long it takes them to establish voicemail/extended features. I assume they will be taking over Sunrocket's infrastructure considering they have nothing today and are advertising "all the features of SunRocket".

    Thanks,

Call forwarding and CDR does still work through the Sunrocket interface.

Voicemail is not yet available. They have a message on their website saying "Friday or Monday" to have Voicemail up. Pretty lame that they would not say "Friday or Saturday".... If this doesn't warrant them to work on the weekend, I'm not sure what would.

and 4 calls. Its a scam. Same company as Sunrocket
    under a different name.

They shrunk the service lines, still no voicemail,
they changed the passwords on the Gizmos so that
you cant go to another provider with the linksys
sp2102 box. Its a Scam, Teleslam service.

I canceled and back to the credit card company for another
    dispute.

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

    Re: Teleblend Sucks...A Scam Company...No Service..Locked Gizmo

I paid them 7/19 and whenever somebody tries to call my number they get a busy signal. Teleblend says another 2 weeks and they may have my number ported over.
Stay away from this company they are terrible.

    Re: Teleblend Sucks...A Scam Company...No Service..Locked Gizmo

In my opinion Teleblend is trying to scam ex-Sunrocket customers. I switched over since Aug 01st. But all this time I was still getting service from Sunrocket and not Teleblend. As soon as Sunrocket turned off their service on Aug 06th or 7th by phone stopped working.

Their tech support does not know what to do. Absolutely unhelpful. They even blame customers for signing up with them - saying too many customers signed up so we can not provide service to all of them.

i have called thrice about my phone not working and each time the tech blames the previous tech that he/she did not get all the information needed and that was the reason my problem was not resolved. What a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far, the service is awful. Caller ID is not working, the International calls terminates itself every 10 or 5 minutes. Most of the time, only outgoing calls allowed. Everytime somebody calls my phone, it goes to the voice mail without ringing my phone. STAY AWAY from this company.

    Give us a break

Ok I know you guys are pissed off,I am too and I work for the company, because I'm not told whats going on with lines and why things are not working. But give the Customer Services Reps a break. Most of us were not there from the beginning, and there was no training for me. We are doing are best to relay the message. I have gottin so much better at taken calls and information from experience. So I know your pissed but dont shot the messenger. We handle any where from 3,000 to 14,000 calls a day so if can try and keep your cool. We would be so great full.

    Re: Give us a break

    plplpl,

I have a number of tickets logged and the range of CSR's goes from those who attempt to be helpful to those who are just rude. I don't believe any of the Telebland CSR's can do more for a caller than to LOG a call or mark a previous call URGENT. This is a horrible situation that Teleblend has placed you into. There never seems to be any status update available on an previously logged call. There is no way to be passed to any Technical Support to review an issue. Most of the time, your immediate Supervisors are taking and logging calls too. There is something wrong with this picture!

Although you (CSR's) do take the brunt of the anger from dissatisfied customer, you do have to realize that there is no one else to vent our dissatisfaction and frustration to. NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK!!! Just imagine taking your car to the local dealer and being told 30 days later that they are still working on it but they have no information to date to provide as status, AND, no repair completion date is available....

I truly hope Teleblend gets their act together soon or they might not be in the VOIP business much longer......

    Hello

    @comcast.net

    This is the fix

Just imagine people trying to get the service to work for 2-3 months. Hello, Can you hear me, go to another provider! This company is not setup to take all of Sunrocket's customers. Cancel the account instead of waiting 10-30 days for service and find another provider! Simple as that.........

Teleblend - Worst CS experience ever

I switched over when SunRocket went belly up. I get working caller ID, I get incoming rings (but I cannot answer) and I dial, but no call is placed (fast busy signal). I have opened so many tickets, yelled at so many people, have been promised on numerous occasions refunds that never came. I asked one CSR when I could expect a call back from tech support and was told he couldn't tell me. I asked him to ballpark what the expectation might be. 2 hours? "don't know", 2 days? "don't know", 2 weeks? "don't know", 2 months? "don't know", 2 years? "don't know", 2 decades? "don't know". Yes, I lost my cool and called him a scumb@g, but he deserved it. I am now trying to port the number back but I have low expectations on that. These guys ought to be prosecuted. I will be calling those numbers (in Maine) a previous poster gave of those people who own the company daily until I get refunds and will not stop until I do. Don't walk, RUN from these b@stards!
