Have had Elite DSL for a few years and I found that the DSL speeds / bandwidth just weren't cutting it anymore since there are 6 of us sharing it so I switched to Cablelynx on 12/12/09. I got the enhanced service which is advertised as 10 meg down and 1 meg up. The last time I tried these guys the connection reliability was horrible. So far the connection has been rock solid and I am happy with my speed and ping to my favorite game servers.

Update 1-6-11
For at least 2 months the speed and pings at night have been going to heck. For $75.00 a month plus paying mandatory TV service @ $52.00 that I really don't want is unacceptable. Tech support admits they have a problem but have told me they don't really know exactly what it is. I personally think the node is overloaded but whatever.

Update 10-22-11
They have upgraded speeds for the enhanced package to 16/2 with a 250GB cap and the nightime issues posted about before have disappeared. I had to go back and forth with them to change the config for the modem for the new upload speed though. Seems that someone didn't get the message for the new speeds. They are also offering a turbo speed now which they say is 50/2.5 with a 350GB cap for $129.95.... I may consider trying this in the future.

Update 10-11-14
Nothing much to report, have downgraded to standard package. Good pings, speed.

Update 7-14-21
Currently have Turbo speed package, had to upgrade to get "special offer". When this contract is over have nowhere to go but downgrade speed and still pay as much as I am now.
Too bad we don't have any other real choices for internet besides 18mb DSL from ATT (not cheap, bandwidth limits), or pay way too much for Cablelynx.

Typo on your data cap amount

You made a typo on the data cap on your review. I think you meant to say a data cap of 1TB instead of 1GB.

Cablelynx has been our only "high speed" internet option at work until Network Communications recently ran fiber in our area. It works "most of the time", but we do experience outages and slowdowns more frequently than "average". Customer service is dreadful and it has been for years. I used to have their residential internet and television service and was so happy to have switched to Suddenlink after moving.

Cablelynx offers very attractive pricing for new customers who sign a contract after which the prices dramatically increase far above the level of their speeds and reliability. One consistent problem with this provider is their network capacity is often overwhelmed - particularly during evenings and weekends. Instead of upgrading their infrastructure to support increasing demand, they lag behind causing significant slowdowns and outages then deny there is any problem with their service.

Businesses really get the shaft when it comes to Cablelynx as their is NO UNLIMITED DATA OPTION AVAILABLE AT ANY PRICE! The business caps are the same as the residential caps! How crazy is that? Offsite backups easily use up your monthly allowance.

Thankfully, Network Communications doesn't have caps and their speeds are guaranteed (not "up to..."). We're switching our telephone service to them as well. So long, Cablelynx / Longview Cable TV!

I have to 50/3 package and get about 5 to 7 mb down. During off hours the speed is fine but after about noon speeds go way down.
The are the only ISP for my location. Read the google reviews for more folks experiences

I've been on Cablelynx (Longview Cable) since 2011. I've been plagued with bandwidth troubles that have gotten progressively worse since the beginning. For the last few weeks now, I've also been having disconnects (as in, my cable modem won't connect for hours at a time some evenings). This past Friday and Sunday, my modem was offline for four hours each night, from roughly 6:30 to 10:30.

Let me preface the following by saying that I'm the sole user of my Internet connection. I live alone and my WiFi is secure (I do this stuff for a living).

The advertised speed for my tier of service is 16 down/2 up. Between roughly 1am and 4pm, I'll measure speeds in excess of that (up to around 20Mbps).

By 5pm in the evening, my measurements drop to around 6 Mbps, on average. By 7pm, it's down to 3 Mbps and remains so until around 1am. This has been the norm for at least 6 months now (that's as long as I've been keeping hourly measurements), despite several service calls. Upload speed is always solid at around 1.7 - 2.1 Mbps.

I was told by customer service and the last technician to visit my house that a major upgrade was to be installed last week that would improve service for all Longview customers. So far, I've seen degradation rather than improvement, noting the recent disconnects. Though, I was told the same back in February of 2013, and saw no improvement then, either. I'll update this review if conditions improve.

On the positive side, I've spoken to A LOT of customer service reps and tech support folks and they have always been very friendly and professional. I think their prices are fair for this area of the country at $55/mo. plus taxes for Internet alone -- if they were providing the service advertised, of course.
