I have been with IXWEBHOSTING since 2004 - they no longer want my business and have been hostile and not lived up to what they say they will deliver. After 8 years with them on an "Unlimited pro" plan - unlimited bandwidth and disk space, and years of consistent and low usage they file a "violation" against "fair use" of their server and want me to reduce from 60g to 15g in 48 hours. I removed some old files but it was not enough for them - they seem convinced that the 60g of storage I have used for years on my unlimited account violates my terms of service. Of course nowhere is this new limit on unlimited accounts documented, and they continue to falsely advertise that they have unlimited accounts - don't believe them!

Had they said, for example, we are terminating the unlimited pro plan in 6 months and it will cost you another $5/mo (or something), I would have said fine - but I'm not going on a dedicated server for my low usage (which is what I think they are trying to force me into, but have not said so). I really don’t want to deal with this right now, but they seem to want their customers to respond immediately to this BS.

I have no problem with the idea that “unlimited” is impossible, but they sold it! Sell honestly! I also reject the idea that my usage is unreasonable, but there seems to be no way to argue with them – and they are not worth the trouble.

So, I am moving things off to Amazon Cloud – I would not use IX, even if it was cheaper – they should be happy, I will ultimately reduce my disk space to zero as I remove myself from IXWEBHOSTING.COM. This is no way to treat your customers.

I have used IX Web hosting for about four years and have been quite happy with them. Not once has the site been down when I need to use it, or have I been told. I use them also for domain registration because with the biz account I got two free domains, using one hosting is a plus and the features are shared.

I know they have changed alot in the past but they have been very helpful in my experimentation with php and mysql and the ftp and they're options are quite niiice.

ixwebhosting is terrible. I was with them for about 3 month and experienced at least 2 (usually more) outages to my site on a weekly basis. Their speed for MySQL sites is very slow and their customer service is totally unfriendly and not helpful.

I have a few friends who use them for Windows hosting and they have no problems but for Linux hosting I would definitely recommend staying away from ixwebhosting.

After I left them and moved to a better company saw much better speed and uptime for my php/MySQL blog.

IXWebhosting also charged me $40. to leave, something I have filled a dispute on with the BBB. It's highly unfair to be charged a fee to leave, especially when they did not provide the service promised from the very beginning.
