The only other option for us was Hughes and dialup. We gave up both for this service, we had the one way system. The speed package is the 1.5 Mbs Burstable speeds.
We had to put in a 250' ditch and we installed a 12' pole with wire anchors and picked up the cable from them and ran the cable into the house and to the base of the pole. The Radio is a Tranzeo TR-902. This is a 900 Mhz setup, we are about 7.3 miles from their broadcast mast that sits on top of a local Elevator. At this distance our signal was rated at -76.
We wanted to control the running of the cable into our house and get the line buried, got tired of getting the baby rabbits out of the ditch. Our up and download speeds are at least 1500 kb/s down and 1200 kb/s up, but usually our tests are 2854 kb/s down and 1867 kb/s up. Latency is about 23 ms. Very good phone service and always ready to answer our questions on the work we were doing getting ready for the install. Installer was very fast and knowledgeable and answered all my questions that I could come up with.
Bottom line a good company who delivered what they show on their web-site.
