Being with Bluewire was not a choice I made. I was with CableAmerica wireless before they sold out to Cox who in turn sold out to Bluewire. While my service was through CableAmerica I was getting 3MB service and worked wonderful and I had a dynamic IP but was not behind a NAT so I was able to do as I please to connect to home from outside. All the same after it became Cox Wireless except my speeds dropped to 512k (same price a month). I was still happy expect the speeds.

Then I get a letter in the mail from Bluewire, they explained that they will be taking over the Cox Wireless service where I live and I would be excited about their expanded service and faster speeds. We will be at 300k for $39.95 until they can upgrade and it will become (automatically) 500k for $49.95 or you could choose 1Mb service for $99.95! I was surprised by the prices but I had no choice, there is no other provider in my area for high-speed. Well the change came and I was no longer able to connect to my computer via PcAnywhere. So i called them and they told me that I am now behind a NAT and if I wanted an outside IP address it was going to be another $10.00 a month. When questioned they told me that all services charge for an outside IP otherwise it a NAT'd address. When asked about my sub par 300k service thats only 200k (maybe) I was to receive an answer and never did. I emailed them about it and still no answer about my slow speeds. I gave install process a 5 because the installer that installed it was from CableAmerica and was very informative.

I recently changed to Qwest DSL (as it is now available) and its only 1.5Mb service but I am paying under $40.00 a month and I have an outside IP (no extra charge unless I want static).

UPDATE:

When I disconnected they never came and uninstalled and picked up their equipment as they were supposed to but they proceeded to bill me replacement price for the equipment that I was still waiting for them to remove. Equipment was removed by customer and they were told to come and pick it up.

Customer with complaint in Congress did not understand previous service sold by Cable America was actually 300K for 39.99. If customer was getting more with Cable America then it was a configuration problem that was fixed when Bluewire took over network. We do use NAT to try and conserve the remaining Routable IP's left in the internet space. We are sorry for the frustration we caused this customer but have many happy customers in same area.
