I was a happy IHUG NZ customer, until they changed their "Fair Use" policy. It used to be that, if you averaged more than 500MB/day over a three day period, they would throttle you down to 2Mbps. If your 3-day average exceeded 1GB/day, then they dropped you to 512Kbps. A 2GB/day average would drop you down to 64Kbps. After a day or so of 64Kbps, your 3 day average would drop and your bandwidth would go back up to something tolerable. I was fairly happy with 512Kbps-2Mbps speeds with about a 1GB/day average traffic (about 30GB/month of traffic).

Now, they've changed their TOS, so if you exceed 20GB for a calendar month, you're dropped down to 64Kbps for the rest of the month.

Also, they've increased the maximum speed, but the only thing that accomplishes is a less reliable connection (they've never provided actual overseas bandwidth that came anywhere near the 5Mbps connection speed. So, the high-speed connection is less robust than a 2Mbps connection wrt to noise tolerance. The connection sucks now.

I'm moving to ORCON, with the change over in a few days.
