Had been using their Look phone modem upload and high speed download from 1999 - 2002. I then got their full wireless MMDS Hybrid modem and the upload became more decent. Problem is, their pings are horrible at least with the Hybrid modems. Pings are up there in the 200 - 300ms which makes online games quasi impossible to play.
Look have recently switched off their Hybrid system in Montreal so i can't speak about it but from what i heard, it fixes the bad ping times and makes the speed and the connection it self more reliable.

Look.ca is horrible. From the 30+min tech support call waits, to being lied to...I would suggest everyone not to use this provider.

I've been with them for 2-1/2 years now.
Service is reliable and steady DSL at the 5Mbit/800Kbit tier though I'm actually getting 4Mbit/800Kbit service due to distance limitations.
Outages have been non-existant or at least unnoticeable over the past year or so.
Service is uncapped.
Bundled with TV service so actual price invoiced for DSL is $37 per month plus whatever applicable taxes.
cons : no usenet.

i've been with look since the beginning of third party dsl, always fast no matter what time of day, i get the full 5 mbit as advertised. I rarely get disconnected and even hold the same IP for weeks on end. Email has been very stable over the years.

Was with THT.net, service taken over by LOOK.ca about mid-2005. Details: 3000/80, no limits stated, 5 email addresses, 10 Mb web space.
Noticeable deterioration in connectivity since switchover from THT. At least once monthly the connection goes dead, usually in early a.m., once or twice continuing till early afternoon; sometimes the modem goes out of sync on these occasions.
The 0.5kbyte/s speed happens 1-3 times monthly; it goes at 1mbit for a while then gradually to zero. I found I had to reboot the modem after leaving phone plug unplugged for 2+ minutes in order to be able to reconnect at 3mbit, else I would just get those slow speeds again. Assuming I could reconnect (see above point).
I gave up trying to get technical support. 9-to-5 hours only, no voicemail, etc.
When it is working the speed is as expected, at around 2600/550. They have not hassled me about download limits, and should not, as my service with THT was uncapped; as at a month ago, Look has held to that.
However, from a month ago, I can no longer access my THT user control panel to update email accounts or Spam Assassin, and I cannot login to the ftp site to update my home page. The email accounts are still active, although probably not for long as it usually takes 2-5 tries to actually send an email.
BOTTOM LINE: Forty bucks is OK, I think, for an uncapped service that connects 90% of the time, works well 80% of that time, but has no ability to add/remove email addresses or homepage, no technical support to speak of, and apparently alters service without warning.

LOOK.ca acquired customer base from THT.net anfter they went bankrupt. The transition was horrible, but the service is working OK now.

3000/640 Service/DynamicIP/PPPoE
No Complaints. First 4 months $25. Service was activated as promised. All questions regarding using own modem were addressed before ordering. No downtime. Had 1 problem with email (my fault) that was resolved with Tech Support. Best value for money I could find.
