I have gotten their fiber optic service and I have to say, it is awesome. This service is the best I have gotten from my local phone company. While I pay more than what others do for the basic service, I get the faster speed, and next month I am going to try their 26 MBPS service. UPDATE: 26 MBPS service max out around 5000Kbps (40 Mbps)There are NO CAPS on this service since it is not cable, and they offer IPTV here which is better than cable. The average speed of downloading is around 18 Mbps on 16 Mbps and around 31 Mbps for 26 Mbps. The upload is less to be desired, 1-1.6Mbps they do offer 10M/3M and 10M/10M for $199/299 respectively aimed at businesses. The MDUs they use are very expensive, at $1,000 for 4 users work good. With battery backup I can use the internet when the power is out.

They give you a NETGEAR WNR1000v3 N150 Wireless Router for free for self-install a $59.99 value. This router is very easy to configure and run. The install fee for the service is $45.00 which includes the telephone line. If you install cable too (Triple play) It is still the same, so it is split between the services so the best value is to install the Internet, Telephone and Television which makes it $15.00 each. The cost for triple play with expanded basic cable is $135.00 a month not including tax and rental of the IPTV boxes. It will run up to $177 a month, 135.00 for 6Mbps/1Mbps FTTH an additional $22.00 for up to 16Mbps ($155.00) and $42.00 for up to 26Mbps ($177.00). The 16 Mbps service is good for a small family with moderate gaming/downloading, but the 26Mbps is best for a large family with heavy gaming/downloading. The average ping times are around 50ms I had some 30ms and very rare at 100+ms.

This service is great, I can stream 4 HD Videos and play a game online. This is not good for anyone who wants to share files as the upload is 1M. This is also limited to very few areas within the telephone company service area. They will not be done with complete roll out until 2020.

This is a very new offering in Montana, since most of the state is 20 years in the past, this is a very awesome internet service. The phone company is very excellent with the way they treat their customers. Since this is a Cooperative us the customers/users are partial owners. So they are golden with customer service, and the techs don't talk down they talk to you when you are having problems with your service, the engineers are actually easy to talk to. The installers are funny and nice, as they take personal care of you. I had a problem with my phone line after they installed my service it was broken. And he thought he had to replace the ODN (Optical Data Node) which he told me is a grand each. But they fixed the problem, something got byorked at the office and they just rebuilt the line and it was fixed. He came back to make sure everything worked correctly which was above and beyond what I normally see with install techs. Thank you 3 Rivers for the personal care you taken to get my internet installed.

3 Rivers is a very rare phone company, they take very good care of us and this is what is needed with all other providers. If you move to Montana move to Fairfield, Sheridan, or Pendroy so you can get Fiber To The Home.

I am so jealous..

Nice. It seems that the smaller towns are getting fibered up. I've noticed this in Lovell, Powell, and Cody.

We're still stuck with the big ISP's, which seem to run their infrastructure into the ground before they even think of upgrading. Although, we do get a 30x5 here.. so I can't complain too much.

Update 2012 Version 2.0 Major update than 1.0 in 2006. In 6 years they have increased the speed.

I have the Standard DSL which is7.5mbps download 1500k upload but I get 7700/1500 which is great. I now say they are a great isp and they are very prompt on fixing their issues.Good thing is they are a lot quicker to repair than Centurylink and COVAD they only serve 1/1000th the size of people then they do where I was at before moving here. If you are interested in getting service and your are in their service area go to »3rivers.net/data/products and scroll down. This is a local Phone Co-op (which us members own).

Great thing is they will have FIBER TO THE PREMISIS sometime soon. What the need to do is get the optics set up and this will take a lot of time.
