I moved from godaddy to hostgator about 2 months ago and haven't looked back! can't beat a unlimited everything service for the price they charge and the support has been awesome! love the live chat and i've used it many times for help and always have get a good answer. auto installs, updates takes seconds instead of hours when i was with godaddy. so far everything looks good!

I signed up for hostgator a few months back hoping for a no nonsense true unlimited deal, so far they have delivered.
I went with the middle package which is unlimited domains, unlimited pages, unlimited bandwidth. I used coupon "GOOGLESPECIAL" to get my first month for a penny and have yet to have a negative issue. They include cpanel for the admin side of things and also give you a $100 adwords coupon just for signing up.

My account was paid up to date, when all of a sudden these guys killed my business account wich was prepaid until 2013, because my personal account was past due by 1 day. The only reason why my account was past due was because I was awaiting on payment to process through paypal.
These guys didnt give any warning, and just yanked both accounts off the web. I will be promptly finding a host provider who wont yank any of my accounts off the web. Also, the phone support was bad as you could often hear the guy breating into the microphone, and the tech support department would not give any credit for the outage on my business account.
AVOID these jokers at all costs. A google search on how they have pulled peoples accounts while paid up to date is an eye opener. You are much better off going elsewhere!

Have been hosting with host gator for about 3 years now and after moving up from 1&1's shared service it's like night and day. My sites serve 10 times faster then they ever could on the other service and the SQL databases aren't bogged down with millions of requests every second.
They do not impose a limit on the storage you have you are just limited to what the hardware can hold and asked to keep process usage below 5% which is easy to do unless you are trying to run a game server or something of that nature.

I like Hostgator for my websites at »miamitom.net, »miamitom.com and »miamiandthebeaches.com. I had all these sites sitting on BlueHost but BlueHosts's performance started to lag, and then a friend recommended HostGator.
A couple of clients of mine, »newsdrivenstocks.com and »madpennies.com and »greenequityholdings.com, and »rsanassociates.com all started using HostGator's rack services, and their premium webhosting manager - it all works as it should and the Hostgator reliability has been excellent!
Regardless of whatever level you get in on at HostGator, you get the CPANEL control panel which makes managing your webserver a breeze.
You can go in low for $5/mo or get their rack solution- which by the way Bluehost does not offer.
Highly recommend HostGator!

Hostgator provides great uptme and speed for a low price. I've tried several hosting companies and Hostgator has been the best so far. I particularly like that the MySQL database resides on the same server so my site is much faster than with other hosts, most who have the database on a separate server.
Uptime has been great and their technical support is also very good and accessible via phone, live chat or email.
I recommend this hosting company.

Called in to test out Hostgators sales support, very knowledgeable staff, phone was answered within 5 minutes of wait time.
Signed up with Hostgator for my first Dedicated server at 4:26PM, had my login and IP info by 6:30PM, talk about fast!

Moved all my domains over from Surpass Hosting, WHM's "Copy multiple accounts/packages from another server" feature worked like a charm. It copied everything over to the new server with no issues (non found as of writing this).
5/27/08
Had some problems with chmod, small stuff not working right, used the chat box and got help from a knowledgeable tech that helped me get fixed in a very quick time frame. Their servers do not allow 777 for directories, you have to go with 755, once I changed that everything worked.
