No competition where they offer service, so it's a mixed bag. Some days it's great and others it's garbage.

Can't get anything else where I'm at, so this is my only option.

limited T1

They have their T1 over-subscribed so much its not funny or aren't even using a full T1 it sounds like. Especially if at peak times its to a crawl.

wireless

I've used satellitte from a clear mountrain foothill/mountain top and it connected/worked maybe 30% for what 100bucks a month not to mention No customer service, I'm assuming you have no cable or dsl or they don't work either? You might be in a bad area I.E interference? sorry to hear about your troubles as I was looking at clearwire, Wireless can be bad specially with it being farily new to residential use? I would imagine it'll get better? But whatever sales pitch it takes to sell a product I guess, They should discount you for not "advertised" services but that would cut prophets?

At 3am it works!
The other 23 hours of the day it does not.

The network gets congested easily. Pretty darn slow the majority of the time of day. Very rarely ever meet advertised connection speed. Lots of problems with packet loss and lag.

This service would be fine if they had enough bandwidth to support it's customers.

This service is intermittent and their tech support is awful. If there were ANYTHING else in this area, I would switch.

There are no other options in this area. This service works intermittently. We have called tech support numerous times to no avail. There is only one tech support person, and he does not listen or help. He has a pre-packaged solution: it's your fault. Comes up with several reasons - all involving your internet use - for the slow speeds and constant pings. I use the service for email, light social networking, and my online classes (which involves logging on to take two 10-minute tests a week - which I get disconnected at least once or twice during and have to email my professor and request to retake the test), but he implies that I am draining bandwidth and any problems are due to my (brand new) computer and what I'm using the internet for. He does not return calls until you leave several messages, then implies that you're lying that you left more than one message. He does not even attempt to solve any issues from their end, just keeps implying it's your fault until you get off the phone with him. Been stuck with this service for 3 years now. Can't wait until something else comes. Even if this service were to miraculously become amazing, I'd still drop them because their tech guy is a condescending jerk. A couple of years ago you used to be able to request a different tech support person, and the issues would get handled immediately so it was not a problem. But since they've pared down to just this one guy, the service and support have completely sucked.

I know exactly how you feel. They treat me like I'm an idiot, and that every single thing wrong on my end is my fault.

They barely ever if at all answer their tech support. All you'll get more than half the time is an answering machine. For the past year I've been trying to have them fix the speed problems and awful ping times I've been having, and it's all responded with excuse after excuse.

Their service is absolutely pathetic, and it is depressing that they simply don't care. I really don't see this ISP improving any time soon.

Re: Post

Exactly. And there's nothing else out here, so they don't have to care. The "tech" guy knows you don't have any other options, so he doesn't have to spend any time finding a real solution to the problems. Never even bothers to answer the phone.

Are you guys me?!

I've had their garbage internet since day one back in 2005 or 2006. I can't even remember the exact year since it's been a roller coaster from hell. Believe me when I say it's been extremely bad since I signed up with them. Check to see if the wisp prarieinet has anything around you.

Thank you. I will look into Cumberland, but we're out in the country - several miles outside of town, so it's probably not an option.

mama0902,

Are you served off of the tower that is on the grain bins at BB&P? That is where they are located they are the same type of service but are reliable.

Re: Are you guys me?!

We used to be on that tower but they moved us. It does reach here, though, so I will definitely check into it tomorrow. I'd love to tell Signature to take a hike. Thanks so much for the help.

Re: Are you guys me?!

Hi Nicholas,
I just talked to Cumberland. We're getting hooked up with them after November 1st! We'll finally be able to give Signature the boot! (pun intended)

Cumberland asked who referred us, and I told them it was someone from this site. If you can message me your name, I can give it to them, and they'll give you a free month of internet for the referral!

Thanks,
L

Very slow Internet! When I called to cancel, they basically told me it was my fault it was slow b/c I had not called for technical support - which I had done! Very frustrating, cost me $150 to cancel my lossy service.
