$20 per month about 30 days "Cheap" "Rarely works without dropping half your conversation" "Tech support doesn't answer emails, or phone calls, and the service is garbage unless you reboot your modem once an hour"

Don't bother - go with something else, anything else, it's likely better - even two tin cans on a string, or possibly smoke signals. Distributel does not answer technical support emails, when you call in to their support line and cannot get a hold of a human being and get the 'we'll call you back message, leave your number' - they're lying. They don't return calls, and even if they did it's not like I could hear them because of my crap phone service. I got a hold of a tech there once, and he sent me a new router - but it had the same problems, and since then no one has answered any of my emails or phone calls. Very unprofessional.

have been with Distributel for 2.5 years now and at the end of my rope. VOIP and DSL service has been problematic for day 1. Numerous dropouts and noisy calls. Overall dsl service seems to drop out regularly and I am forced to reboot my VOIP/DSL modems several times a week to allow reconnnection. I have installed a UPS to eliminate the possibility of power line glitches (drop outs) affecting the modems.
Customer support seems friendly and they have increased their support hours (now available till 11 pm during the week). The problem is that they can not fix my issues. I have probably talked to 15+ service reps and spent endless hours on the phone. I don't think I have ever talked to the same person twice and their techs want to rehash the same old troubleshooting steps. It seems like they are not able to properly document my issues. I have had some reps tell me that they have to test the phone line (I am using dry loop dsl) but I can never get a clear answer about whether or not a problem was found (or fixed). My I attempts to talk to a supervisor or someone else higher up the food chain have never been successful. It seems that supervisors are too busy or not interested (probably both). My main concern now is to understand the root of the problem so that I know what to ask for when I switch ISP. Is it the dry loop DSL it my neighborhood ? If so then switching to another provider will not fix it. Is there another way of finding this out ?

Saw an ad for unlimited 5 meg internet, unlimited Can/US long-distance and free incoming for Ontario and Québec for $66.00 a month plus HST. Took 4 days from first months payment to installation. Was online with sik in 5 minutes. Voice quality is immaculate, and download/upload speeds on dsl very consistent. Customer service is friendly and no hold times. Web site is pretty amateurish but I prefer substance to style. Recommend

I signed over to Distributel from Bell in December 2009. Had to wait a month before i got every thing cleared with Bell and finally they came to install our VOIP connection...
The guy drilled a hole right in my wall instead of asking where he can pull it through. The way he hooked it up interfered with my walking space, so I had to redo it myself. And he hooked it up wrong, had to fix that too.
When the bill came, they decided to bill us starting all the way from Decemeber, and we didnt even start using their service until the end of January. After many phone calles, they finally credited us for their mistake.
The worst of all is their technicians. They dont know squat. Since the tech who was @ my house didnt even bother to configure my router for so that they their router would not interfere with the one I had at home. I had to do everything myself. Their techs were useless, told me to call Linksys, who told me my ISP should help... After 8 hours of researching, I finally managed to set everything up myself.
Now that everythings set up appropriately, things have been alot better. No weekly calls to their useless techs. Tho my internet speed went down from 4.2mb to 3.6mb, who knows why -.-.
Distributel Canada - A Do-It-Yourself kinda Company.

I switch to Distributel for my phone and Internet service in May. I got Internet disconnection problems after the first month. Their customer service is really professional and takes the time to understand the problem and they solve within 24h.They even did a follow up to make sure the problem was solved. (Note: they are only available during business hours)
Since then, I got a good connection, so I can say that Im a happy customer with them.
