Best speed in Maricopa, and most reliable connection.
High price and typical 5Mbps upload for Cable
Better then CenturyLink, but bring your own modem.

When moving to Maricopa it became clear that my internet choices were between horrible or terrible. At first, I went with what I was told was the 'best' of the two, only to have 3 service calls and an outage within 6 days. Enough was enough. I went back to cable.

Enter Orbitel. Everyone makes it sound terrible and like some cheap knock off brand, however I must say the connection is very reliable. The ISP at my old house was cable as well, so I already had my own modem and was able to escape that charge. I have been with Orbitel for 3 weeks now and have no complaints other then the extremely high price ($90 for 75Mbps should be the definition of a monopoly) and low upload speed (which is typical for cable). One thing I would definitely recommend is getting your own modem. It seems the ones Orbitel provides are very old, slow or junky. I have a Surfboard from Motorola/Arris and have no issues. Everyone I have spoken to with Orbitel issues describes to me a typical broken modem problem.

Another problem could be people trying to push a triple package through a single copper line and getting a lot of noise. I personally have no use for cable, and the basic Orbitel cable through the HOA is terrible so I don't use it, so the line is basically reserved exclusively for internet.

It's slightly better than having to send smoke signals.

Worst internet I've ever had. You'd be better off sending regular mail as it would get there faster. Paid for 20 Mbps and rarely got above 8 Mbps. Had to call tech line every week to get rebooted. Local customer service ladies become rude if you complain. Total waste of money. Now I've recently switched to Centurylink and their 12 Mbps is faster than Orbitels 20 Mbps and I haven't had one problem in two months.

I have the 20Mbps and have had techs out to my house for a year to try to fix the connection issues which surround my consistant speeds of 1Mbps -9Mbps. Their techs attempt to fix things but nothing ever gets fixed. The latest tech blamed it on the the internet in general. LOL. So everyone else that I know on other ISPs get their advertised speeds... OHH but it's the internet. I'm so through. The people whom have rated this with horrible reviews ARE CORRECT.

Nothing whatsoever
Internet service dropped throughout the day, paying for 9 mps, receiving 2. Speeds so slow that we cannot stream video.
This service provider (using the word loosely) is horrible. Stay clear! Our internet is constantly being disrupted throughout

Orbitel Communications has horrible customer service and we are discovering that we are paying for a speeds that we do not get. Our internet drops several times during the day and we always get one of two responses: "We'll switch you to a different node" (NEVER works) or, "Our transponders are currently down." We ask for an ETA on regaining the service and the reply is always the same, "I don't know." Our usual speeds register at 2 mps, we pay for 9.

This service provider (using the word loosely) is horrible. Stay clear! Our internet is constantly being disrupted throughout the day. Forget about streaming, the speeds are super slow, no matter how much you are paying. The CEO actually told us that it is acceptable that we receive speeds at 2 mps when we pay for 9 mps! They also told us if we go up to 20 we'll probably get 4 or 5 and that is acceptable to them! (You can't even stream HD at those speeds). We work from home as well and experience constant internet drops. Orbitel gives us the run around and they can't even keep their lies straight. We're getting Qwest this week - save yourself the stress and avoid this company.

Fast and Reliable ISP

Best ISP i have used. Better than Cox or Qwest by far IMO. I have been using this ISP for 4+ years now and the only connection issue I had was due to a bad splitter which they addressed quickly. Highly recommended.

I provided my own modem a Motorola SBG900.
I know I am sharing the bandwidth but it never even approaches the 9MPS advertised rate
It works well with my Roku player most of the time,
My Xbox is having it's own issues so I cant rate it right now.

The installer was very good and gave me some good ideas for my home network and equipment placement.

local company. laid fibre to the head boxes as the city was built up /out, and coax to the house. offer 6mb/1mb, but i don't get close 2.5mb/740kb, ut this is probably dues to wireless setup. Have had only 1 outage in a year, water is a head box caused a bit of a problem, but T/S seem pretty competent in id'ing and fixing. all in all acceptable service
