Good "Tech support is amazing and connection speed is supurb compared to what I was use to: less than 1Mbps :)"
Bad "The people on the phone don't seem to know much, but once you get to meet a real tech, they're support is amazing!"
Overall "Would definetly recommend Bell Aliant DSL, especially if there is no cable in your area."

The bundle we purchased came with Bell aliant DSL (ultra), phone service (with all features like call waiting, call display and voice mail, etc), and Bell Satellite TV service (Good package). After the discount (which expires after the end of the year) with taxes (15% in Nova Scotia) we pay 124.08/mo. The price goes up to just a little under $170 with TV, which is steep, but I may cancel the TV service at the end of the promo if there are no better options (since I'm not a big TV viewer anyway).

When the tech came to hook us up, it was very prompt. We called on a Monday, and they came Wednesday. Initially we were only put on 1.5Mbps and had some issues (drop outs, retrains, etc.). We called a tech and they removed bridge taps on the line and the connection was much more stable, but we still only got 1.5Mbps since the person on the phone we ordered it from said basic high speed was all that was available.

Later on, we had a BA tech come for another matter (not related to our account) and he kindly bumped us up on ultra. Being on a long loop, we can't get the full 7Mbps, but we are getting 4.6Mbps all the time, solid and stable.

We had a few issues with the service where it would cut out, two occasions specifically. And both times, not only is a tech rolled out quickly (2 days or less) but they are very prompt in getting the service back up and running.

The tech support on the phone you talk to is a bit annoying to work with, since they think you're dumber than you really are and read simplistic instructions from a screen, but the technicians that come out are always very smart, well trained and know what they're doing. For that their support is amazing. Especially in contrast to our previous WISP provider, Eastlink, which took them literally 2 months before they could send a tech out (since they're only in our area once per week), Bell Aliant has really set the bar high.

All in all, I'm really satisfied with the service. I know 4.6Mbps is kind of low compared to what other people can get, but considering we live in the middle of the woods, it's flying fast for someone who is use to less than 1Mbps.

5/5 stars! Thanks Bell Aliant!

Switched from Rogers, 60gb/month cap and throttled, what a difference, for the same price per month I went from 10down/0.5up to 25down/5up with FTTH.

The $170/month is for IPTV, Internet and Home Phone

the price is about the same as eastlink cable, just Bell Aliant DSL has slower download. nice that it comes with a free wifi router/modem, but it's pretty lackluster. i just got hooked up so i will update my review in the future
