Moved to Evanston, WY in Aug 2009... Had Windjammer, Quest, and NGL Connection (satellite internet) as options and went with Windjammer. Ordered the Turbo internet (10MB down, 1.5MB up) at special of 29.95 for the first year, 39.95 thereafter. They had just switched from Adelphia and were in the process of switching server equipment so I wasn't able to get more than 5MB down for the first 2 months or so. Once the transition was complete and ever since, I have had rock solid speeds of 9-10MB throughout. The only drawback is they laid off all but three techs in the area, so if something does go haywire, it takes a bit for it to get fixed... but all in all, it's a great service for the money. The cable service on the other hand is an absolute joke and they know it, but I recommend their internet to ANYONE who lives within their serviceable system in Evanston (even the ones I install DirecTV in!)

Adelphia became Time Warner became Windjammer. It took 2 years for Windjammer to be able to explain my bill.
While no speed is advertised, mine is 5M/800k with a SB5101
The techs in the field have been prompt and informed, office workers have a pulse but no brain wave activity.

$54 per month "Great speeds. 14.5Mb download speed 733 upload speed" "It wasn't a smooth transition from time warner to windjammer in this area" "Great value for money, excellent speed, they need to improve in customer service."

Oct. 29, 09 Update... Windjammer has been solid again after they fixed the outage. It definatly is a much better deal than dsl in Sardis at this time. I get a solid 14.5Mb download speed and about 733kbps upload speed. Also since the switch from time warner there were some issues. I'm hoping they can grow as a company and get better as time goes on as in even faster speeds and better support. I also noticed since the switchover from time warner to windjammer i noticed we were still on time warner network. Not anymore, now i'm pretty sure we are on a quest network. My speeds are very consistent no matter what time of day i'm online. I know it might be wishfull thinking but that would be awesome if they somehow rolled out docsis 3.0. So right now i'm happy with my service from windjammer.
Update March 11, 2010, My internet connection has been great from windjammer for a while now. I get about 14.5mb download speed and 734kbps upload speed. I get this for 54.95 a month. My only complaint would be that i wish the upload speed would at least be 1 or 2 mb upload with 15mb download speeds. Other than that i really like the download speed. I'm just hoping they eventually upgrade to docsis 3.0 in the future here. That would be great. Their customer service has also improved greatly.

| | Same as TWC Windjamer is using the former TWC network. TWC didn't wish to service any longer and sold the network out. You should have switched to TWC long ago and had the same speeds and prices. | |

| Re: Same as TWC Yea i know we are still on time warner's network. All i have to do is a traceroute to find out the network still comes from columbus rr. I had service before when it was time warner also and saw speeds like that most of the time with them too. Only problem with time warner was that i would get an occasional disconnect. The signal has improved some also since the takeover. On windjammer it stays connected for days like it should. When the switchover was taking place there for a while i think time warner broke us on and off the network here for a week or 2. That's when i switched to dsl. Then a buddy of mine told me service was solid again with the cable. I switched back and it's been great since i signed back up with them.
Also the cable tv service my parents have has been a lot better since windjammer took over. Fox and abc was out all the time with time warner. I have to say windjammer is doing much better than time warner did with the tv service here. All the channels seem to be on like their suppose to.

| Re: Same as TWC sounds like the amp needed to be turned up. that could have been a quick fix if Level3 new about it. Fox and ABC have issues every where. It's due to where the signals come in at and where they're sending them from.
I was on TWC in Fremont (midohio as well) and signals went from Toledo to Lima and at times Columbus before we'd see them on the TV. always lines and spots. We always had that problem though even before TWC bought the local cable company and rebuilt.
The main reason TWC sold out was due to you're in a smaller service area and TWC nicely said they don't care anymore which is what happened to Charter.

| | Were on Qwest network now I noticed a while back we are now on qwest network. So we are no longer on time warner's network. | |

I think I first reported that I was a Windjammer customer in November. So far they are unable to tell me any detailed break down of my bill.
6 month later: The Internet access still works, Windjammer still has no explanation or breakdown of my bill.

I have been a highspeed cable customer in Sardis OH since 2006. Compared to our previous cable company Time warner, my down and up speeds have doubled and ping has improved tremendously since Windjammer has taken over. In my time with them I did experience a large amount of inconvienance with my service due to outages and transfer issues from windjammer migrating to roadrunner which caused me to cancel my services with them and switch to att dsl. Doing so i had to switch from a speed package of 14Mb/768Kb on a cable line to a supposed 7Mb/768kb dsl line which was actually 2Mb/368Kb with jurasticly decreased ping times. It only took 4 days for me to decide that DSL was not for me and ended my services with att and went back to Windjammer cable's turbo boost package of 14Mb/768Kb. Since after the migration everything has been wonderful exept for the past 5 days of on-off outages.

| I'm glad they got the issues fixed here!!! Time Warner was actually the one that upgraded the network here before they sold out. Before they upgraded the network here i was told that time warner had 3 t-1's serving the entire area. I used to complain a lot and a buddy of mine actually got ahold of the higher ups at time warner. They eventually upgraded the area to ds3's or t-3's. Then they just gave up on this area and sold out. After windjammer took over we were actually still on time warner network. Then like a couple months ago i noticed we are now on some kind of qwest network.
Windjammer seems to have fixed the issue with the outage i assume? I love the 14.5mb download connection also. I think it's great to have such a great connection in a rural area. Hopefully they upgrade to docsis 3.0 eventually. Hopefully windjammer stays afloat and grows and does well as a company and they can eventually upgrade the speeds even more.

I am convinced that Windjammer does just enough to stay above water. They are a small trust located in Jupiter Florida, and have very little cable/internet experience past dialup for some overseas military personnel in Afghanistan . Each customer has less bandwidth than they did with Time Warner, which leads to bad service. It's like the service that you received with DSL when it first got big around the turn of the century.
You can email them from the website but probably will not receive a reply. I am shooting 20%.
Bottom line: Purchase some Customers, fit them in a room built for half the number, and lie your teeth off and try to make a quick buck before pulling the plug.
Don't expect Windjammer to stay a player in the market. They are barely a company, Greg Cullman, Alabama

Our only other option is dial-up or dsl. We do not have a landline and really don't want to go that route. The transition from Time Warner began on Jan 12 and it has been a nightmare and continues to be. The first clue that this was a fiasco was when our speed slowed to a crawl. They sent a tech who couldn't find the problem because he didn't have the tools necessary to troubleshoot. We at that point found out they had us on the basic plan, so we upgraded back to where we were w/ Time Warner. Second clue; their email server went down on a Thurs. and tech services didn't know until late Sunday nite when I called them and was on the phone w/ them for 2 hours (THAT IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION). They asked me to call back on Mon. I was on phone w/ them another 2 hours and all they could tell me was our email was in a dump file! This went on for two weeks and in the end they lost all our emails on the server and we had to get yet another email address. Third clue; My speed tests are miserable and inconsistent. I am only guaranteed "up to" 5Mbps downstream/384Kbs upstream. This is my latest speed test: 998Kbps/690Kbps. (Just had another tech out last week) Just think, I get to pay $49.99 for this "special service". My only hope is they will sell it off quickly to someone who knows what customer service is and knows how to run an ISP. I know that God is out there...........................HELP!
