I've had SDSL service through these people for about a year now (Desktop
Media is the ISP, Sleepy Eye is the actual DSL provider). Overall, I've
been mostly satisfied with this service. When I found out that I could get
DSL, I called Sleepy Eye and got an appointment to have it installed within
a weeks time. Installation was fantastic. The guy from Sleepy Eye came at
the appointed time, was very friendly and had the service installed quickly.
He was able to give me basic information, then gave me a number to call
Desktop Media for my account information and the rest of the details. I
called them and had things up and going within a couple hours. The only
problem I had was a temporary email glitch that Desktop Media resolved in a
day or so. The DSL they offer is 256k SDSL, for $60/mo. This is a little
steep, but well worth it compared to NOT having broadband! I've tested the
services speed through your site numerous times, and it is usually right
around 240k or so. Not too bad at all. Surfing the web and downloading
files is great. Occasionally I can also find a good server with a decent
ping for playing UT or Q3A. The only bad that I have to say is that the
service has gone down a couple times, once for over a day. That's not
horrid, but it is annoying. Also, the email has gone down before for a few
hours at a time. Lastly, when they gave me the setup info, they gave me
only one DNS address, saying that was all I needed. After a few months I
started having problems getting my email and getting online so I called and
found out it was necessary to have a secondary DNS address. It just seems
to me that if that was due to a change they made, they could have contacted
their customers to let them know.

I don't want to sound like the service is too bad though. 99% of the time
it's up and functioning as advertised. All in all I'd say that service
through Sleepy Eye and Desktop Media is great, especially since it's the
only thing in my area!
