I ordered Teksavvy cable's 10Mbps/512K. The order process was simple and straight forward over the phone. I purchased a SB6120 modem from Teksavvy. It arrived before my install date. On the install day, a Rogers technician arrived and was unable to find the drop at the side of the building. A couple days later another Rogers technician was deployed and he was able to trace the cable. Once he hooked up the cable, the modem started to work right away.I performed some speed test and was impressed. With SpeedBoost enabled, I can peak at 60Mbps and my average is around 15Mbps. Not bad for a 10Mbps service. Referral system is great! You get $1/month credit for each user you refer.
Thank you Teksavvy!

Was a satisfied DSL customer (although speed was not great due to my line quality), and now I'm a happy Cable customer! Woot!

Switched from their DSL service so I ordered the Motorola SB6120 from Teksavvy and they coordinated the installation with the Rogers technician. Installation went smooth and the service was active within 30 minutes of the technician leaving.
Fast connection - with speedboost I can obtain 30 Mbps although I get the 15 Mbps when downloading large files. Have a full 1 Mbps upload which is great for torrents.
Great company, reliable service and cost effective - everything you could ask for.

[Jun 7 2011] I will write a preliminary review here, seeing as I just got my service activated. Will update as I go along if I bump into any trouble.
I have had experience with Teksavvy before using their DSL service at my old residence, so I was elated to hear that when cable finally arrived in my new area (Thornhill, close to Bathurst/Centre), I could dump Rogers and their >$50/month for 60gb cap plan for good.
Gotta clarify the "order to success" # of days criteria here: certainly it's not that long because of hiccups with my activation, just simply because Rogers requires a 30 day notice so I couldn't get my Teksavvy up right away until I'm done with Rogers. I called in around mid-May, found out everything from Teksavvy that I need to do to switch, and called in Rogers to get my termination date. Unfortunately just another gesture for Rogers to gouge the customer for that last month of money, but what can you do?
Dealing with the sales rep was very smooth, didn't have to wait long and got all my confirmation in the email a day later. Modem received a couple days later well before my activation date. Plugged the modem in this morning at 9:30 and everything is running on Teksavvy now, gotta say that's efficiency at its best.
I'm on the 10mbps/512kbps plan, works out to ~$41/month all-in, modem costs $75 to buy outright. Happy customer so far, and I expect TSI's staff will be extremely helpful should I encounter any problems (knock on wood). Hence why I have left the tech support rating blank for now.
I will give it more time before I add a rating for connection reliability also, as one day obviously isn't enough for me to gauge this, but I'm sure everything will work out fine

$41 per month about 8 days "Installed on time, high cap/month, and CHEAP compared to competition." "Speeds slightly slower(may just be a busy time of day) than advertized, install poorly coordinated." "Bear with any possible installation hiccups and enjoy the awesome service afterward!"

Had TSI hooked up today and LOVE it! I am in BC and supposedly if you set up a new modem a tech MUST come to your house as per an agreement with Shaw. Though I was slightly annoyed I set aside a whole day for a tech who never showed up, the modem did end up being activated on time. The first 4 support people told me I could have it set up without a tech visit as I already had Shaw and was just getting a second modem activated, but thier boss was extremely adament that a tech HAD to be dispatched.
The speeds are advertised as 25/2.5 and I am seeing about 19/2.2/55ms. Admittedly, this is during peak hours.
The other big plus for me is that TSI and Shaw both allow custom/diagnostic firmware on thier modems as confirmed by multiple calls to customer support.
Finally, the cost: for standalone service from Shaw, it is $60+HST/month with a 100Gb cap. Teksavvy is the exact same service tier, but $41/month AFTER tax with a 300Gb cap!
Bottom line: get Teksavvy Cable if you can! (thankfully now available in West Vancouver; saving me from the evil Shaw.)

I've been a Teksavvy DSL user for 4+ years with no complaints that weren't related to Bell outages. I have been waiting since Teksavvy offered Cable in Toronto in 2010 for it to come to Ottawa and in May my waiting paid off. Service was ordered mid may and on the 21st the tech hooked everything up and a couple hours later my modem was activated.
Speeds have been excellent, the first week or so I had problems getting the full 15mbit during prime time but it appears to have been a temporary issue as this last week as been great.
If you are on DSL and want something faster, cable is the answer, check teksavvy's site to check if you can receive service.
I'm using the Motorola 6120 DOCSIS 3.0 modem that is recommended by users in the forums here and it is working rock stable.

$49 per month about 7 days "Monthly price (with no contracts), Speed, Generous caps, Useful and friendly tech support (in my experience)" "Up front cost (modem purchase and first month in advance)" "TekSavvy seems to actually value their customers, there's no reason to put up with Bell or Rogers"

I've had TekSavvy Extreme Cable for a week now, and so far I'm not disappointed. I haven't experienced any disconnects or reliability issues. Speeds seem to remain consistent, no matter the time of day. Always 15mbps down (or more due to Speedboost), 1mbps up, and latency is steady. This could change if the POI I'm on or the local node becomes congested, but for now it's all good. Hopefully, TekSavvy will stop taking sign-ups when they know the POI is reaching its limit, until they can do the necessary upgrades. Which they have done in the past.
So far, the tech and sales support both on the phone and in the direct forum have been excellent. My only minor beef is that the installation appointment was never actually confirmed with me. I had to call to ensure the visit date had been approved by Rogers. Also, the tech who did the installation showed up at the last minute in the time window chosen and didn't call before showing. I know the latter is something that is more or less out of TekSavvy's hands, but it's why I can't give them a perfect score.
Unfortunately, the tech discovered the cable line was damaged and had to drop a temporary one. Now it's a waiting game to see when Rogers sends a crew to replace it with a permanent line and bury it. It's possible a permanent line might slightly improve the error rate I'm seeing in the modem stats, as well as perhaps lowering latency just a little. Or, the connection could actually become worse (doubtful).
I'll update this review as time goes on, and once the temp line has been replaced.

i placed the ordered about a week ago, with sales rep detailing me on everything. You will need to purchase your own modem to use this service. teksavvy took $20 of from the activation fee for buying a modem from them. As stated by the sales rep, Rogerss technician came to install my cable service. He quickly installed the cable and left. After attaching my modem I had to wait about 3-4hrs before my modem got provisioned. Once provisioned i could get 15mb thanks to speed boost. i recommend this service who is looking for a fast internet with correct pricing.

I was with Rogers and liked the service, but when my work really took off I discovered that I was CONSTANTLY switching to higher service tiers (which is not saying much) to avoid being dinged for overage. I'm in Kitchener and at the time TekSavvy wasn't available. In April, they became so, and I signed up. I figured that I may as well go with the highest level, which was Cable Extreme Pro and no bandwidth cap. I set it up, bought the modem (the SB5101) and waited a month (As per Rogers policy, which I'm sure wasn't necessary).
The date came. I got up, plugged the modem in as well as my router. PERFECTION. I get double the speed TSI advertises, no drops, no lag and fast uploads. I haven't needed technical support and regardless of when I call I can always get prompt courteous service. Literally 24/7 which is good because as we all know, Mr. Murphy (I swear if I find him, he's dead) doesn't respect nice 9-5 business hours). I never felt pressured when asking questions, I felt like they really cared. In fact, the sales rep tried to get me to go with a lower plan, but with my work, unlimited is best.
I love the fact that I'm not tied into a contract and that there are not a bunch of weird charges. I know to the penny how much I'm paying each month and I never have to worry about a bandwidth cap which means I can just get on with my work.
In short, if you're on the fence, don't be. Go with Teksavvy, you won't be disappointed.
