I actually started off about 10 years ago with a wisp that got bought out, then bought out again and ended up as Poncacity.net. Service has had it's ups and downs over the years, but over all I am very happy with the current service.
They are very accommodating anytime I need something. I have had various hardware problems over the years (expected) and they are quick to replace any equipment I need. Service is $34 a month with no guarantee on speeds, however after a recent upgrade I have kept a reliable 3mbs down/1.5mbs up. Initial installation/equipment fee is $79 with 1 year contract.
The local telco started offering DSL a few years ago, but with a higher cost/lower speeds it's not even a contest. These guys are the only real game in my town, yet have always acted like you had other options and they wanted to keep your business.
