I live in Tatum Texas and have been paying $99.00 / monthly for 1.0 meg of internet now I was more than happy to since the alternative is dial-up But now I new company came into Tatum and bought out Reach Broadband called "Alliance Communications".. WOW.... 5.0 megs internet for $59.99 monthly and best part is I can actually game now. Latency is around 30ms sometimes 10ms... They also offer I believe 3 megs for 29.99 I believe. Finally this small town has competition so hopefully this will cause an increase in bandwidth between the two providers and make things cheaper and faster. Tatum Telephone is awesome and very reliable only complaint I have is that they haven't increased their 1.0meg internet since they launched probably 5-6 years ago maybe more. Alliance has spent a few months probably 6 or so and upgraded the old speed their previous provider had of 1.0 meg to 5.0 megs. I've only had their cable internet for a few days but their techs that installed the equipment were great and friendly and the supervisor showed up to help also and he was very courteous. Great job Alliance please continue to grow in the surrounding area and get us more bandwidth *******Update***** 6/12/2013 Well Alliance has a variety of packages now the biggest being 12mbps for 69.99 now. Now for the issues for the last 3 months I have been receiving over 50% packet loss from about 11 am till about 9:30. Techs have stated they have no clue whats going on. At first was told it was my modem but after asking a few others around me they were experiencing the same issues. I spoke with a manager at Alliance and they have given me a great credit for a 1 year time period but the internet is completely unusable. A tech is supposed to show up Friday again to replace all the equipment and rerun a line to my house but as you can imagine this will do no good as others in my area are having the same issue. I was supposed to be contacted by the plant manager but still haven't heard from them at all. It seems like that are hiding on this issue I'm hoping for a good result in the next couple of months as Alliance was doing great after they bought out the other provider but service as of lately is completely poor and lacking and as of now I would not recommend them to anyone. I will update this after a couple weeks, lets see what they do. member for 14.1 years, 6 visits, last login: 10.6 years ago updated 10.8 years ago
