As I'm writing these words, it's eleven a.m. on a weekday, and I've been...as ALWAYS... on hold for over an hour. The FAQs on the website do not help you. The remote control is a train wreck. The Owner's manual is gibberish...but it also never includes any answers to the questions you happen to have at all. If I tried for ten years, I could not do as bad a job as SureWest has done in that area,either. The on-screen interface is a massive time-waster which never gets better. If you fork over your money to SureWest, you won't have any time to work at your job. You'll spend all your time taking forever every single time you try to record every single program, fruitlessly searching for answers in the terrible manuals they dump on you, and sitting on hold, except when you're writing e-mails SureWest won't answer. Surewest will eventually answer the phone when it comes to selling you a bunch of services you don't need, but when you need help, they treat you like you, the customer, are a germ. The blame, of course, lies with the pestilent, virulent, poisonous excretia who run Surewest: the absentee management and the absentee owners. The employees are not to blame, not that it matters, because the new owners and management have fired almost all of them, so no one answers the phone or responds to "Chats" or e-mails. SUREWEST IS DESPICABLE FILTH. Never, ever give your money to these evil parasites STAY AWAY FROM SUREWEST. STAY AWAY FROM SUREWEST!!! STAY AWAY FROM SUREWEST!!!!!

I have had this service for about six months now. There was one brief period where the connection would go wonky and disconnect just before midnight which I suspect was the night crew tweaking something on the network as the problem lasted for about a week and then never returned. I rate that a minor annoyance as every provider needs to do network maintenance once in a while and they waited until after 11PM to start. Kudos for that!
The remainder of the time the connection has been solid 24 X 7 with speeds spot on the advertised level (8 down, 1 up). SureWest consistently provides the service they promised without significant problems, at prices lower than TimeWarner , and with prices and performance an order of magnitude better than AT&T (which sucks big time).
