Value for money:
Ardmore Telephone Co. = good service. N. Alabama-Tennessee. I finally gave up Hughesnet when I learned that DSL was available, yeah!!!! My service is "Basic" which costs $30 @768/420 but requires the "E Phone" service which is an additional $10. End cost per mo. is $40.
"E Phone" is 5 local calls per month max allowed.
Supplied with Comtrend pseudo router/transceiver (wired) which works fine for me.
I called them, selected service and the next day the equipment was hanging on my front door knob.
Initially I had problems with DSL connection which was quickly tracked down to corrosion on my "demarcation" box. Repair service was excellent and quick and I even got the direct cell phone # to the guy driving the route if further problems occurred.
Since then there has been only a short period (day or 2) where they experienced some network related issues where I had to call because connection was flakey. Phone support was excellent and quick again.
My usual (virtually always) up/down when tested is 800/420 with latency below 40.
This is a small startup company and you get a very personal feel from them, even a down home kinda rural feel but that is a good thing that I like.
If you are N. Central Alabama - S. Tennessee and getting hardline telco then chances are that you must use them...don't regret that fact!
