Pre sales info was inaccurate about ISP switch times, implying that I would have service about 2 weeks before I did, but that may be a moot point since the sales guy I spoke to seems to have been fired.

Install coordination, like the other 2 ISPs I tried to get DSL from, sucked. I don't think that was Concentric's fault, & the fact that it sucked less through Concentric is proven from the fact that I'm writing this through a DSL connection. The whole customer-> ISP-> CLEC-> ILEC communication chain is so fragile that it's a miracle any installs get done at all, & NorthPoint's insistence on getting your original ISP's permission to switch you to a new one is ludicrous.

I've been up for a week or so, the only downtime I've had on my connection happened when I tripped over the router's power cable & unplugged it.

Tech support hasn't always had *all* the answers, but they have the ones they should & they're there 24/7 & willing to help.

News has been great; mail & DNS has been confusing to set up & is still not complete. This seems to be because of Concentric having 2 different divisions handling it.

I'm in an interesting situation as far as value for money: I'm splitting business-level SDSL with 3 other apartments in my building, with Concentric's knowledge & approval. I get hosting for my 2 domains, 5 POP mailboxes on their server, & the ability to run my own servers. It works out to $50/month per apartment, so I'm pretty happy with the value.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with their service.
