My old ISP, Oz.net was one of the early DSL ISPs when I signed up with them in 1998. They had great service. I got a free static IP as part of the montly bill. The install went quickly, service was rock solid, pings were amazing, and when Covad was in financial difficulties, they helped me switch quickly and painlessly to Qwest.

Then, 4-5 years ago, they were bought by The River out of Tucson. Things were still Ok, but there were more and more annoyances. Their tech support moved out of state and the call quality was often sub-par and as spam got worse, they didn't really have any simple help for dealing with it.

A couple years ago, the River was acquired by Nationwide. I didn't even know it had happened until Nationwide bungled the roll-out of some irritating anti-spam solution that screwed up my wife's e-mail for a few weeks. They finally got that straightened out and things were fine for a while, but in the last 6 months or so they've had multiple multi-hour outages. They've generally blamed Qwest, but it's getting old.

I'm switching to Qwest.net ASAP. I suspect that Qwest doesn't give 3rd party ISPs the best service, and I don't like rewarding that bad behavior but I'm even less interested in dealing with a cable company. Also, I'm sure that Nationwide has an SLA in place with Qwest. They either need to pony up for a higher quality of service, or sue the hell out of Qwest for not meeting their existing SLA. In any case, I'm done, and as a side effect, I can actually save $10 or more a month.

I recently moved my 2 office locations to Nationwide Internet, and i am very impressed with the overall picture on how Nationwide handled my move, and I have not had any outages or downtime in the 2 months I have had service. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking to change providers. I have yet to try my free nationwide dialup access so I can not say how well it was. I travel quite a bit, and my old provider had very good dialup services, but I just could not handle the problems with my DSL.

I recently selected Nationwide Internet for my DSL provider. Although they are not the cheapest, I couldnt be happier. I certainly did not want to use SBC and decided to give them a try. I have now had my dsl for 3 months, and not a single problem with the line and their network rocks.

I was worried moving down here, as I was with my ISP up North for over 7 years and never had any problems with them. Kudos to the Nationwide Internet team.

My name is Steve Brennan and I have been a customer of NationWide Internet for many years, back when they were called DFW Internet. I was a long-time ISDN subscriber and their service was flawless. Last Christmas I ordered ADSL, the platinum package, from them via GTE. The initial install went fine with no problems.

Since the middle of summer I began having periodic outages that would last from one day to a complete weekend, sometimes more. I would call both NationWide and GTE and they would blame each other. I had no idea who to believe. Eventually the service would resume with no contact from either party.

Last month NationWide moved into a new data center. They claimed that we would only experience a mild outgae, if any. My ADSL service was down over a week! And I pay for a business account. Every time I would call them, which was daily, I never felt as if I was getting an honest answer. Either that, or they truly did not know, which is scarier.

They have since fixed all ADSL problems and everything is running fine.
