I started out with Cari.net when they bought my original ISP. The dial up service was fine but it was dial up. I opted to switch to DSL when they signed up as a COVAD partner. I paid the $250 (for the router, free install) and they got me up and running in a few weeks (2). The delay was in getting COVAD to come out to my house. They did not bother to tell me that I had to get my own domain name etc for E-mail (Extre $30 there), but I did get 100 megs of web space with the DSL package.
Once it was up and running things were fine for a few months but then I started having trouble with my E-mail. Now my e-mail was hosted on a Cari.net server and I was hooked up directly to a Cari.net DNS server so there should be no problems right? WRONG. Had a hell of a time even getting my e-mail much less sending it. Spoke with the head of their DSL dept. (Richard-Nice guy who knows his stuff). He stated it was the way that COVAD had my cicuit patched and that they might be able to re-route me and make it better. This went on for awhile and when I called back he informed me that they (it was a decision by the owner of Cari.net) were dumping COVAD and that I had to switch to another ISP or pay the $550 for the NORTHPOINT DSL setup. Needless to say I switched ISPs to Bazillion (A BIG horror story there!). Cari.net did keep my Web hosting going as per the original contract and I still have my 100 megs of web space for FREE! It expires in June 01 but it's only about $20 a month there after I may just keep it there.
All in all not a bad ISP. I kind of wish I had taken their NorthPoint DSL deal when it was on last year. Not that I have any probs with COVAD, but it would have kept me from playing musical ISPs.

Why is it worth my time to write this review? Because these guys are the "real mccoy" and I appreciate that.. especially after getting the run around from Flushcom and Internet Unexpress or should I say Internet BS.
Here's what I appreciated: 1-Very courteous and helpful on the phone. Thanks Phil (CSM) 2-The Circuit the rocks.. very fast. These guys are so straight that they even invited me into their office and showed bandwidth, speed, and Internet pipes. Every other place seemed to be virtual and simply reselling sombeody else's circuit. 3-The pricing is about $30 to $40 cheaper than everyone else business pricing! 4-try 'em: dslsales@cari.net
