I signed up for their self install kit. No sign-up fee, no contract, and a free DSL modem. For a static IP and their Bronze package (768 downstream/ 128 upstream) with 2 email accounts I pay $52.95/month. This is billed directly to my credit card which I am not to happy about. I would rather be invoiced, but hey I refuse to deal with GTE/Verizon directly. The service is mostly reliable. The modem has been down for more than 4 hours only twice in the 3 months I have had the account. One strange repeating occurance though, is that I will lose internet access for no reason. The modem still looks like it is functioning, but I need to unplug the modem and plug it back in. This happens about once every 2 weeks. Just an annoyance I guess. I am about 1/2 a mile from the central office and my actual line speeds are apox. 500kbps downstream and 75kbps upstream. It does vary from 350kbps to 749kbps depending on when I test the line speed. Overall I can recommend them to other users.
On a side note, this ISP does not offer news group access, so if that is important to you look elsewhere..
