I am not sure what the other 2 guys are talking about. I don't think they understand how the cable modem system works. I am positive the first guy doesn't. I have talked to Blazenet in length about how their system is set up, I am a bit of a geek. And if there was a noise problem it should have been the cable company not blazenet to take care of the problem. I have had only 3 outages and only one last more than 1 hour, maybe i am luck? I have had the service for about 2 years now. And can tell you that all the techs I have talked to knew what they were talking about for the most part. I have worked in the service industry for years and can tell you there is NOTHING worse than a customer who thinks he knows everything (i am talking about the first guy who wrote a review, incase you couldn't tell). Well any way I have no complaints about blazenet and recommend them to everyone i see.

They can be a good place for Cable modems if the are not: expanding or changing locations. But that is what they have been doing for the past 2 years. Thus your conection is lost for 1 to 6 hours at least once a week. they badly need a clean out of there burned out workers and send more time and money on planing and expanding with out loss of service.

Very unreliable and they do not have tech support, unless U consider the guys who suggest reformatting to solve problem as tech support. They abuse their bandwidth or do not provide the bandwidth at which they claim they are going to provide for you to use.

They don't even have a TOS agreement.

I come from Baltimore (actually a little north of it) where I had @home. I was running a Hotline (file sharing) backup server and was ordered to shut it down. I recently moved up to York and was calling around to the different companies to get ideas on which I should hook up with for high speed access. When I got to Blazenet I asked if I could see a copy of their TOS (Terms of Service) agreement to see if I could run my server with them. They proceeded to tell me that they did not even have one for me to look at and that I could run the server but that I would get no support from them on it (not like I need it anyway). What a joke these guys are!

Cable modems users get no respect

The other reports on Blazenet is correct. Most the Engineers are either burned out and tell you to format and reload windows or they put pressure on Technicians like Brian to stop giving good help. Yes, they have or had at last contact with Blazenet, a guy named Brian that was very much a go getter. He fought to get the Engineers off there buts and fix the problems. He risked his job for the 10% of us cable users that were getting a rotten cable modem connection. It turned out that we dumb customers knew more than the engineers like Shawn. Samsung sent in a Rep. to fix it for Blazenet. He said it was very simple. All they had to do is use the setting for line noise and all was fixed the company rep. Said the manual for the equipment had not even been removed from its bag. He made a special trip in just to turn a knob or two.
THEY ALSO send emails out only 1/3 the time telling of shut downs for work they will be doing. And ONLY send them 6 hours before they shut you down for 1 to 5 hours.
They ALSO have been doing a switch over to having there mother company run the cable modems at the Cable TV location (Phaltzgraph the plate wear company owns Blazenet and the Cable TV). They said this would be done by April 2001. It is now 8/14/2001 and a full 4 1/2 months LATE. But they are not behind in shutting off the Cable Modems when ever they like to.

As Comcast expands Blazenet will Die :-)

Cheap services like Blazenet will die if Comcast can go throughout South Central Pennsylvania and not oversell their nodes, and provide good service. People will switch from Blazenet to Comcast not only because it is a better service, but it is cheaper.

Poor BlazeNet :-(
