I'm another ex-Directlink customer that Waymark bought. Customer service has been terrible. After hours you are directed to voice mail, which they don't answer, and they don't answer emails. Connection reliability was very bad for the first few months after Waymark bought Directlink, but at least that part has improved.
I found Directlink two years ago by researching this site and the customers had mostly very good things to say. I was glad to have the excellent recommendation, and I hope I can provide a good tip to people looking for DSL service: Waymark has terrible customer support!

We had existing service from DirectLink...loved them. Any problems (2 in 2 years) were resolved within hours of reporting. Then ARC, still OK, then Waymark!
The first month we were down for 3 days on one account because the techs were checking the wrong account. Then they cut off the wrong service (we had 2 accounts, both used for business and when we requested a cancellation of one, they cut off the other)! It took 30 days to get it back on. 30 DAYS FOR AN EXISTING CUSTOMER!
We have been down three times since the service was finally back up. Today we were down again and when I called to check the "network status," the recording said that the update date was November 13th (this is November 19th). Although the tech I spoke with today did get it back up and running, it seems that they don't have enough experience on hand at Waymark to troubleshoot major problems.
We still do not have the correct service (suuposed to have Bronze enhanced, but have Silver in reality and the interesting part is that when I checked the speed today, it showed 205 down and 300 up...for SILVER). Still have no real answer as to cost of service...they are vague at best.
I would look elswhere for dsl...these guys are a mess.

I too am one of the ex-Directlink customers that was transferred over to Waymark. One of the first things I did was email Waymark's tech support to on a problem with connecting to Directlink's newsgroup server. That was... oh, about 10 days ago, and I have yet to receive a reply. So their tech support apparently doesn't exist. Now my Internet connection sporadically dies for a minute or two every night. Very frustrating in the middle of a tense Counter-Strike match. The only thing I'm grateful for is my pre-paid year with Directlink/Waymark ends in less than 2 months and I will be more than happy to get a new ISP.

I started out as a DirectLink customer. Nothing but good things to say about them. Recently Directlink sold all their DSL customers to Waymark. I didn't want to use Waymark so I changed to another ISP. I then called Waymark and asked for a refund for the portion of my subscription that was unused (paid for a year in advance). They told me I was out of luck and that they wouldn't give me anything. The reason they gave is that they didn't receive anything from Directlink, therefore, they wouldn't give me anything. That's a bunch of crap. Do you think Waymark is going to take over thousands of customers and give them free service? Me either. Run like hell away from the crooked practices of waymark.

In my opinion, watch out for these people. I had service for about a month, decided that the bandwidth limit was something that our family, being extremely heavy users, would go nuts worrying about. I called and cancelled (back around late March, early April) and now I find out that they've started back charging me from that date to now as if I've had service all along! At best it's terribly shoddy customer service and accounting. At worst, well - beware this vendor.

Outstanding single-ISP willing to work with EU (end users) to get details ironed out. The (small) support staff is excellent. It's unfortunate they are using GTE though, as I had a horrendious time getting GTE to select the proper ISP to send my line to. (I was set up with GTE.NET for 3 weeks, waiting for one idiot at GTE to fix my problem.) Aveage Download (on the 768/128 line) ends up being 30KBps (BYTES!)
The 3 in Value per dollar is not directed at Waymark (they are extremely competative) but the entire cost of DSL. If only cable was available in Plano at the time of my order.
Peak: 67KBps (Adjusted speed would be: 578.88 Kbps) I just wish they would return my interview request

I ordered Bronze + service (256-768k up, 128k down) from GTE and Waymark as my ISP. It was installed exactly a week after my order. After GTE installed the line, I called Waymark around 12 p.m. I had to wait a while since I requested a static ip address. They gave me the address around 7 p.m. The speed is as good, or better than I expected. I have seen it peak at around 60KBps down and 14 or 15 KBps up. Other line tests continually rate it between 40 and 60 KBps down. So far, I have had no bad experiences and am very pleased with ADSL.
