about 5 days Verizon (ex GTE) "Very nice and friendly. They actually called me to see if I was satisfied with my service!! They plan to limit growth." "Slightly on the expensive side of ISP access. No telephone support after business hours." "A++++!! A no brainer for businesses or residential. Worth every penny."

How refreshing to deal with a truly local company after the hideous Teleport/OneMain/Earth-no-link no customer service debacle.
Real people, real service, real responsive and real responsible. At first I was uncertain about establishing business service with a small ISP. After touring their facility and talking with the owner, I was convinced is was a no-brainer. After 3 months of perfect service, I couldn't be happier. They plan to limit subscriber numbers to be able to maintain quality service.
The adult content filtering works perfect -- it caught one of the guys at work within 2 hours of establishing service.
I think I pay $149/mo for 384k/384k DSL, static IP, which includes email and web hosting. DSL service from GTE is extra, of course. They were ready to go live long before GTE.

These guys were marvelous. My wife has a very small business, and I'm sure I'm as small an account as they have. Yet doing business with them I was treated with 5 star quality. I called them, asked if they supported DSL and they actually did all the leg work with Quest (US Worst) in determining if I was in the right geography. Found out the answer, got back to me, followed up when I sat on my hands and did nothing and even called the phone company to place the order for me once I they had given me all the details I needed to make my decision. Then they even preprogramed a router for me, I dropped off the one I got from QWest and picked up the one they had preconfigured to work in my environment
I had a problem with the install, I talked to Quest and had some of the worst support I've ever gotten from any tech vender, called Sterlink late Friday, checked a few things, set an appoint to call me over the weekend and in VERY short order fixed the problem and helped me make a couple of adjustments to my browers settings to change a couple of basically unrelated issues. (read wasn't thier problem and they still helped me fix it).
If this was the quality of service I'd recieved just with DSL that would be noteworthy, however they have with out exception provided me with this level of service and ALWAYS friendly while doing it. Even though when I do ask for support it's user error. I'm the VP of Operations for a software company and I happen to be responsible for service for my employeer. It is this level of service that my team asspires to. Can't recommend Sterlink strong enough. Are they perfect? Nope, but who cares when the resolution to any issue is such a pleasant experience.

"Fast, easy to deal with support with nice follow-up; adult content filtering (for family access)" "Adult content filtering (if you personally want access to absolutely everything the Internet has to offer)" "This is a fantastic ISP to use as an alternate from GTE or USWest for your family"

I have found that while my physical DSL provider (GTE) was initially clueless with
regard installation to my house and didn't seem to know when they were going to have the connection complete, I found that Sterlink's support as an Internet Service Provider was superior. (GTE was fine after all was installed.)
While Sterlink support might only be available by telephone during business hours, e-mailed support issues I presented them were resolved and confirmed to me via e-mail at surprisingly late hours and in a very timely fashion. This goes a long way towards building my loyalty as a customer. I wish more companies would treat their customers as well. There has only been a couple of times where network access has been a breif issue only lasting an hour or two when I noticed. Their uptime is remarkable.
Sterlink offers a adult content filtered service so my whole family can comfortably surf the net. Sterlink's service, combined with my LinkSys DSL router, allows all of our computers full-time Internet access. Since my girls have their own PC connected, I don't have to worry about content filtering. Reputable sites offering education insights on topics such as human sexuality, pregnancy crisis, and other sites that might have "bad" or "controversial" words in them are not blocked as some over-the-counter software based filtering would do. Sites that might not indicate content, but show photographs of explicit acts or other material that would be considered inappropriate are blocked when Sterlink is made aware of them. They do a great job of keeping up on current sites, but if you do happen to notice a site that's inappropriate, (or unintentionally blocked), they move quickly to resolve the matter.
To me as a father who wants to share what the Internet has to offer with my kids, the site filtering is a definite value. For the expertise and fast response times I've seen with Sterlink's support, I feel they are a top notch group. I'd give them as many stars as there are to give!
