UPDATE-
Things have drastically improved. Back when I first reviewed this ISP, everything was Frame Relay T1s. Since then everything has been converted to ATM T3/Fractional T3s. Speeds and pings are consistent and superb.

Bronze Plus--
OWT is fine for websurfing or downloading, but for games its WAYY too overloaded, Went with cable modem and get constant LPB status!

My Other Reviews

·Verizon Online DSL
This ISP is a great one for locals who don't want to mess around with Charter and all of their rules and constant price fluctuations and hidden charges. They don't even allow you to use a router. The cable modem MUST be connected to a computer ONLY. NO servers, NO online gaming allowed, etc. They don't even let you use a mac!! Not so with OWT. They don't care what you do with your bandwidth at all. You can run a server, play all the games you want, they give you unlimited email space, and great support. Also, you know how some cheesier DSL services make you use special software to use the modem? WIth OWT, the modem is completely self contained and self-updating, just plug in and GO! Speed is also very good, usuallly around 50 KBps during peak times and 100 KBps off-peak and about 90 KBps average. They also have almost 24/7 connections. The only time they might be down is on fridays and saturdays from 11:00 to midnight doing upgrades and maintenance, other than that, it's always ready for you! Also, they offer free email virus scanning. If you get an infected email and the server detects it, it removes the virus and forwards you the message with a little message saying it did so. You'd never think this, but they are one of the few companes that have more macs in their business office than PCs. They even give you free tech support Mon-Sat. If your internet is busted and they can;t figure it out over the phone, they'll fix it at their office FOR FREE with only a 1-2 day turnaround if even that. Usually, they can fix anything in a day if you bring it in early enough. Now the bad news, yes they do go through Verizon and that costs a nominal fee each month and it is a bit more expensive than cable from charter. It costs less if you pay by the year like me. like 30% less! While more expensive by a little bit, it is a small price to pay for the speed and other perks like support and reliability. They offer static and dynamic IPs and dial up gateway for wehn you are away. I ordered 768kbps down/128kbps up ADSL for around 45.00 per month with fees. They also offer regular dial up service and business DSL and fiber services. The modem I got was a small self-contained (no special software) Orckit box. The install was easy, just plug in and go. Have almost never had to call tech support!!

Fine if you want to pay for nice people taking care of a weak system. I switched to Dynacom 8 months ago and I have seen double my previous speeds and continuity of service.
