  • Fremont,Alameda,CA
  • Contract price not specified.
  • "DSL Service discontinued"

I called up the 800 no listed in the dslreports website, which is
1-800-914-9082.

Someone answered the phone almost immediately and said that they no
longer offer DSL service. Clicking on the link leading to the DSL page
on their website also says document not found.

Thanks,

Sam

DSL Reports
I recently had a nightmarish experience installing my DSL. My home
is in Chicago. I ordered a 12 month $50/month contract from Izap for
384k ADSL. This was back in September of last year. Now in the third
week of January the thing is finally working. Izap and Covad were both
very professional and helpful. Ameritech was just a bunch of clowns.
Covad and Ameritech both came to my house about 10 times each to get
this thing going. I spent enough time talking with the customer service
guy at Izap to consider him a personal friend. After threatening to
cancel some real progress was made and finally the four lights on the
DSL modem all turned green. Soon I was surfing the net at 42k/sec. Was
it worth it? Yes. But don't dump on your ISP or Covad for crappy
service. Ameritech has the most pathetic technicians and DSL setup you
can imagine. Order the service but don't hold your breath expecting for
prompt installation. Cable is coming to my neighborhood this year in
december. Maybe I will check them out when my DSL contract expires.

Good luck with getting DSL. You'll need it.

Alex
