Couldn't be better. The wait was a bit more than I liked, but all's forgiven. I top out at 500/115 on the tests here, but my downloads max out at advertised speed(768k). Dr. Ping doesn't seem to work well for me so I can't set my RWIN accurately. It's currently at 11520. If any other Ace customers can help me, I'd appreciate it. Forget Verizon, this is the DSL to get.
Finally getting 700's on the speed tests. Last night I was averaging 800k downloading and measuring with AnalogX's Netstat Live. Counter-Strike pings are amazing.
*Update*
had my download speed doubled last month, and everything has been twice as fast. speeds are always consistent. except for their news server. it was awful right after they upgraded my speed, but it's gotten a lot better in the past week. their customer support was excellent about responding to this issue, even though they took a bit long to fix it. its still the best isp in my area, IMO. its worth the extra $15-20 over verizon considering Ace is competant.
they dont seem to be inline with the recent verizon upload increase. thats what i've been told by cust support.

I would like to strongly recommend AceDSL. I've had them for about two years now, and two other people who I have recommended ACE two have been equally happy. I have gone through five DSL providers before ACE and have been on a saga of lies, betrayal, and broken promises.
Ace doesn't require contracts so there is not much risk in trying them out. They don't require site visits, which for me is a big plus (don't have to wait for techs to not show up). Also they don't go through a middleman like Covad to Verizon so they have a much better business model.
You get static IP address, decent speeds, fast installs, standard tech requests (billing changes, additional services at the like) can be requests via the web without human intervention.
They have competent humans inhouse and I have even been able to talk to them when I have had a complex technical question (involving routing--something that many other ISPs have claimed to be able to provide but turned out to be lying).
The only "problem" is that planned maintenance is not specifically announced (there is a standard offhour timeslot, but you don't have any particular knowledge when a particular slot will be used. Additionally, when this maintenance occurs, you often have to reset your DSL firmware to get fast reconnection (it will eventually reset by itself).
I have had good luck with their speed. I started with their 1600/384 service and later upgraded to 2100/768. Using various tools to actually measure the performance shows that I almost always get this performance or better.

I just ordered my Acedsl service 2 weeks ago. They actually called me to see if I was able to do the install myself. They worked with me to set up my network router for my office and called me back to make sure it was working right. When it turned out that I had been installed with a 762/762 pack insted of the 1500/372 pack I had wanted, they put the trouble ticket with verizon for me and called me back 2 days later to make sure it had been fixed.
So far so good.

I set up a cabled/wireless network at my office with only minor hassle (I'm new at this, but learning fast) but had heard horror stories about DSL setup/service. Fortunately, I had no such issues with AceDSL: the online ordering was painless, service was available in 10 days despite Verizon replacing some optical cable in our building with copper lines, the tech talked me through the setup/configuration process and was very patient. I can only report on one day's worth of service/speed, but it was fine during the day, and this evening's speed test was 623/107 @6PM (768/128 advertised). Other details: static IP address, 24/7 support, 10MB of Free Web/Storage Space, Free Dial-Up While You Wait and if DSL down. Monthly rate is $60, install kit with modem, S&H and tax $127 (this is for a business, modem is free for home).
DSLreports was really helpful when I was researching this-I hope this has been helpful to others as well.

2-24-03 Have had them for 2+ years in 2 different locations. For the most part I have little/no problems. Occassional, brief, disconnects still occurr, but given all the problems I have had with other providers I would rather have minor inconviniences every now and then than to risk the total disasters I have had with other companies.
Have never had problems with support and have been able to reach them the high majority of the time. In 2+ years I have had to deal with support some 6 times or so and they were helpfull for the most part.
They are far from perfect, but they are a reasonable value for the money and have minimal problems with their lines..

Hello,
I just wanted to to write a little story about DSL services I've got for a last couple years. >> First ( about 3 years ago ) was Earthlink. Plus: Usually I did have a connection. I was pretty happy for about a year... And after that Minus: I got a connection but line was so congested that I was unable to use it. When I was calling tech support waiting time was usually not less than an hour. They did not support routers( WinPoET should be installed on Windows ). It took them more than 2 weeks to "move me to less congested router"... oh, common...
I got tired of that and move to >> Verison. After a couple of months of their "service" I decided to quit. Should I list all the minuses? Coz there was no any pluses.
Next was
>> Acedsl I used it for couple years and I was really happy with their service. Plus: Reliable service. No problems. No hassles. Minus: For those couple years I had a couple times of downtime for about an hour or so on Friday night or Saturday.( Who doesn't have such downtime? ) It is acceptable for customer who is paying a regular price.
Well... one day I had to close my account with Acedsl because I was moving to Staten Island. When I moved I wanted to install DSL again. Reading so many great reviews about Cloud9 I decided to try them out. FIrst of all their website was keep on telling me that my phone is not in Verison database and after that problem was that my phone was not checked by Verison for DSL. When I called to Cloud9 their representative told me that basically there is nothing they can do to help me to get a DSL service.
Well guess what... Yeah I called Acedsl. I do not know what they do, but in less than 2 weeks my DSL was up and running. Their representative went an extra miles for me to get me as a customer. Helped me out to set everything and that is it... I'm happy again.
Also, I'd like to point out that I do not work for Acedsl, do not provide any services for them and I am not getting paid from Acedsl directly or indirectly.
I just wanted to write this little story to people like me to let them know that there are still companies who are ready to go extra mile for you and who value you as a customer.
P.S. Sorry for my bad English. Basically English is not my native language.

I signed up for 768 service and was connected within 5 days. I had to get my own modem, but now they provide free modems for home use. The service is always up, I have never had down time. I usually get the speed I ordered, and have no problem sharing the service on my network with a linksys router. I had a problem initally sharing it, but that was due to a config problem which I called Ace and had it setup within 1 minute!
I have had occasion to call tech support (for configuration issues and tech questions) and have ALWAYS gotten through even AFTER business hours after about 1 or max 3 minutes. Their tech guys REALLY KNOW what the are talking about. I have setup a number of my clients with their service and they are all extremely satisfied.
Their price is a bit more then Verizon and others, BUT you get a static IP address, and great service, so for me it's a no brainer.
If you are looking for super DSL service in the tristate area, get ACEDSL.
If it sounds like I am super happy with ACEDSL, I AM!!!
Great job guys....Good luck!

I've had AceDSL for almost a YEAR AND A HALF. One year at my old address and five months at my new address. My service has NEVER gone down and the speeds are excellent (768/128 plan).
I've only called customer support ONCE. The guy could have been a little nicer, but he wasn't rude and did answer my question.

From order to uptime was 10 days, and it was always up since then. I have had acedsl for almost 2 years now, and funny thing is its only been down once or twice that I can remember. Their tech support, service and speed has been reliable. Its been worth the money, if you can get verizon dsl go through acedsl u will get much better support, their customer service on their website is all you need for support but ofcouse u can always call their tech support, and the people workin for em actually know something. I wish they offered higher speeds in my area.

Ordered 02/14/2001, was installed 04/15/2001. Not Acecape's fault, as I'm on a DLC and it took Verizon 2 months to switch my line (I'm ~8000 ft.).
Originally ordered 640/90 service, but upgraded to 384/384 to do shoutcast. Connection is nice and fast, but service sometimes stops for seconds at a time (read: downloads stop, have to resume). Speed is as promised.
Support is excellent. My original install date was set for 06/05/2001, but remarkably Verizon came through before that. Acecape set me up as soon as Verizon switched the line, and activated my account. No hold for phone support, and technicians are always helpful and polite.
I bought my Westell modem from them, and it arrived the day after Verizon switched my line. Modem seems to be stable and reliable.
Overall an excellent buy! Only bad part is that Verizon's involved. But then again everyone is (Verizon still controls all copper wires to the CO), so I guess they get the best end of it by reselling!
***Update 05/13/2002*** I upgraded, for a while, to their 768/768 service. It cost too much ($149/month), so I'm down to $99/month for 1600/384. I haven't had any problems since my last review. Good job AceDSL!
***Update 12/28/2002***
Since May, I have continued to use the 1600/384 service - not a problem at all. Well, I did lose sync for a couple of days, but it turned out to be a collecting static charge in the cheap filter I was using. Keep it up AceDSL!
******************* I now have cable, but I still maintain dial-up for the email address. AceDSL continues to be a very reliable provider.
